My kittens 8 weeks and 10 weeks are used to eating Eukanuba kitten food so I decided to gradually switch them over to Nutro. A couple days in, Eli was sleeping on my lap and got up on the floor and vomited and then came back to my lap and fell back to sleep. Then he gets up an hour later and throws up again and repeats this a few times until he was vomiting foam.

And every once and awhile I find puke on the floor for days after that. I tried this for about a week and half to two weeks to no change. I then returned the Nutro and bought Innova because I've heard a lot of good things from it and now Ivan has diarrhea and sometimes doesn't even use the litterbox.

Should I just keep letting them eat the Eukanuba since it doesn't give them any problems?

To me, it is not surprising that Nutro gave your kitten problems. I don't personally think that Nutro is at all a good brand - they have a long history of problems with their food, and fairly bad ingrediants to boot.

Innova also has many unneccesary ingrediants in it that your kittens could have problems with. However, I wouldn't resort to using Eukanuba either, unless you absolutly have to, because it simply is not a good food either IMO.

http://ibdkitties.net/CommercialFood.html has a good list of foods to look at. The foods listed on that site do not have grains, dairy, or certain herbs - all of which are hard for cats to digest.

Of course, IMO it would be a good idea to look into feeding wet food (see http://catinfo.org/ ). Something like Before Grain chicken & quail is a mild/bland food, which they should be able to handle.

Another thing that you may want to look into is raw feeding. http://rawfedcats.org/nature.htm has basic information on what I mean by that. It is easy to feed a balanced raw diet (it took me 75 minutes to make up 30 twenty ounce ziplocs of balanced raw last night - about two weeks worth of food for five growing kittens of mine), and the health benefits of it are amazing

Where the fur flies
That's to bad. My youngest male can be a bit of a puker and certain foods seem to aggravate it more.

I have innova here and all 3 of mine tolerate it including Mr. puke y
but it truly does depend on the cat. Nutro has also been in my rotation and again no issues there, Blue can also work for him.. and he also tolerates felidae..

I think it depends to on the kind of puking, some cats just gobble to quick and up it comes(regurgitating) sometimes it's furballs or can be ingredient related ie; allergy or an intolerance to something.

There are oodles of reviews on this site for foods, the one thing though is there is sadly no perfect food nor perfect plan, each situation is different it's a matter of finding what works best for yours

When he throws up, there are no full kibbles in the vomit. Its fully broken up and liquid, so I don't think its caused by eating too quickly.

Is it within 30 minutes of eating? vomiting ie not within 30 minutes and not pieces is time for a vet if more than once in a blue moon....

I would consult the vet as Nutro is far more digestable to kitty than Eukanuba but both have several ingrediants that could cause issues...

DId you switch over a 7-10 day period?
Kittens that young may need a switch over of 14-21 days..

Innova is incrdabley rich... think of feeding a baby ... Nutro would be a multi grain cereal ... Eukanuba a first meat ... Innova would be a stage 3 to toddler meal
