- or even if you're not a fan and just sort of like some of what you hear, like me- Amazon is selling the mp3 version of her new CD for a dollar. The whole thing! Just for today.

If you want it, go get it!

Unfortunately that is only for Amazon.com (USA). In Canada it's Amazon.ca and it's $14.99.

I bought it this morning. Still won't download. So many people are downloading that they are having server errors.

Yeah, I've been having troubles too- I've gotten one song downloaded, though. I think if you buy it and just walk away it'll eventually download, and if not you can go through customer service to get it at a later time.

I don't even see a link for it at Amazon.com. The single is 69 cents, but so far as I can see there is no option to buy the whole electronic MP3.

I'm not a fan of hers, and I don't like pop music, but I did find out she is huge fan of Iron Maiden and metal so I have to give her some props for that.

I like some of her music, not all. Not really partial to her fashion sense.

Much of her music sounds so Madonna-like. In fact when I first heard "Born this Way" I did think it was Madonna. So much of that song's music sounds like it came directly from her: If not from a single song, then a collage of several.

She was on David Letterman this evening and she even acts a great deal like Madonna: Coy....sarcastic....

I missed out on the deal yesterday and am kicking myself. DH is telling me to buy it anyway at $6.99 US, but as I told him, I'd pay $0.99 for crap but now I have to decide if I actually LIKE the songs. They're a bit off from what her previous releases have been, so I'm still thinking.

The album might grow on me, or I might hate it, but I want to make an informed decision.

I'm in Canada and here it's legal to download music through peer-to-peer networks because we pay a hefty levy tax on all media, which goes to the entertainment industry. In several appeals (started by Metallica), each time the judge ruled that it's akin to photocopying, so it is deemed legal. There was supposed to be another appeal, but it never happened. I do still buy music from iTunes, but I like to download it first and listen to the whole disc in it's entirety before spending my money.

Anyway, I downloaded the songs and IMHO the only one worth listening to is "Born This Way" and it sounds like a clone of some of Madonna's songs. Also, there are 4 other songs on the "disc", remixes of 4 of the same songs on the "disc."

Some of her music is okay (Adam Lambert performed his version of her song Fever a lot better than she did IMO), but I always wonder just who she's trying to be when she "dresses up". I was not the least bit impressed with her when she performed on American Idol: She wore what appeared to be just panties & a bra and black boots, and waved her butt around in the air while standiing on the piano seat. Vulgar & completely crude, IMO.
