I don't know if this belongs here, but I going to make the topic anyway. Well my favorite cat breeds are siamese.
They are so loyal and so dog like ad pretty cute, especially the flame point ones. lol

Vinnie is a flame point Siamese mix. Here's a picture of him. Sorry the harness was put on wrong.. ><

Kitties!!! I love them all!!!

So far as visual appeal? I have always loved the look of a Ragdoll or a Burmese. I would never get a pure bred though. I can't justify paying that much money for a single animal. I'd rather spend that money saving several animals or saving one and donating the difference to a shelter.

I've always thought the Spinx was beautiful. but they are way too active, from my understanding, lol.

I'm fascinated by Abysinnians, Havana Browns, red/orange tabbies, sphinx and of course wirehairs. However, when it comes to acquiring kitties---I never know what it's going to be as I've never gone out seeking a specific kitty.

Unfortunately I love 'em all, lol! Hands down favorite, though, and partially because I bred them for many years, is the Himalayan (and yes, some days I STILL can't spell it, lol!). They're not only beautiful, but have the sweetest, most easygoing disposition.

I own a Sphynx and while that breed is probably my favorite, they are really active/demanding at times. I love the look of DSH all red (orange) kitties and Russsian blue. Also, love the look of certain Bengals, but would never own one, my Sphynx is crazy enough.

I do have a very special fondness in my heart for black cats.
I also think white cats, Himalayans, & Maine Coons are cool, too.

I LOVE the modern Siamese, Orientals, Sphynx, Bengals, Savannah's, Abby's, the list goes on and on.

As for my favorite colors in the DSH, I LOVE Tortie's and Calico's.

I looooove orange/orange and white cats!
Actually, I really like calicos, too... oh, and fluffy gray ones!

... oh, who am I kidding? I love all of them!
But the red/white bicolor is definitely my favorite, since that's what my handsome boy is.

I've been owned by siamese and currently am owned by a very tough little Norwegian Forest Cat.

Truthfully though, I love them all , but would never have a longhair of any sort by choice, too much work.

My favorite of the purebreds would be the Siamese. I like the less extreme more traditional look the best. As far as moggies go I have a soft spot for black cats. I think thats because so many people apparently don't care for them and they are the least likely to get adopted.

Awww, how come no one else likes Brits the best? Kuura is now very sad kitteh.

My favorites are British Short- & Longhairs and Scottish Folds. Specially black silvers with different markings (shaded, chinchilla, smoke, ticked tabby) and points.
I also have a soft spot for Persians..and few other breeds.

Yeah, a Sphinx was on the second episode of my cat from hell, but it was really just based on it being an active cat that craves stimulation. The Sphinx needs to be washed frequently from what I'm told and use UV protected glass on your window perches otherwise their skin gets too oily/or burnt. Coworker has two, and also told you have to be careful to always clip the claws otherwise they scratch more easily during play with each other than otherwise since they have no guard coat. Too high maintenance for me... I'm lazy.

For a lazy guy, a mixed-breed domestic shorthair seems to be a good match from what I can tell due to generally good health, low maintenance coat, and average temperament. So from a practical standpoint, those are my favorite.

But from a pure impressive look, I've always been a fan of Maine Coons, second only to Ragdolls.

Yeah frequent bath time and cleaning of the ears and inside their paws from the gross oil build up is needed. They also seem to eat more than other cats due to the amount of energy it takes to be warm without fur. A heating pad really helps this breed, during summer and winter.
If someone didn't have any others pets at all I would suggest getting Sphynx in two's or get another playful animal at the same time. My Sphynx plays well with the dogs, I can only imagine the chaos or hours upon hours each week I would have to wave around a wand toy if she didn't have other animal companions to occupy her time.
