Even Charlie Sheen can't replace himself at this point..................He is an idiot playing an idiot, that's acting?

I think part of the appeal of the show is that a lot of men think how charlie.thinks ir at least to some degree, they want to be as 'free' as charlie is. Charlie is a fantasy, and Alan is reality. They are at two opposite extremes and it's hilarious seeing hiw they try to live together.

I forgot about Berta.... omg she is hilarious! All the characters are great.

Maybe they should have rose kidnap charlie and ashton come in as a cousin who keeps charlie's job for him. That way if ashton messed uobthe show and sheen decided.to come back, it would leave a space for him. It won't be tbe same. Who cares if he's playing himself, he does do a good job!

They won't let Sheen return. They fired him from the show because of his campaign for whatever it was that he was campaigning for all over the media. He did say that he wanted his job back, but the producers refused and fired him. Which is why they now have that creepy Kutcher coming in as a new character to the show.

Personally, I think they should just end the show. It was on a high note, and it would be a shame to see it go down in flames. Part of the appeal of the show was Charlie Sheen's character. With that character gone, the show seems to have jumped the shark.

EDIT:

Charlie was making 1.2 million per 1/2 hour episode.

Kutcher will be making 1 million per 1/2 hour episode.

Kutcher was also the 4th name on the list. The first 3 declined. The other 3 were:
- John Stamos
- Rob Lowe
- Hugh Grant

Ironically enough, the first 2 are really good friends of Charlie Sheen. I think that's probably why they refused to replace him on the show.

I was hoping for Rob Lowe, that would have been the only one IMO who would be close in personality to Charlie Sheen. Kutcher will not be able to fill those shoes IMO.

Ashton's ok. I liked him on the 70's show. Charlie Sheen is a one and only though. I'll watch. I'm curious.

I've never seen 2 1/2 Men - no desire to - and I'm not a huge Ashton Kutcher fan. But... saying that Demi "made" him is unfair and simply wrong. That 70's Show made him. And while I agree that he's not the greatest actor in the world, take his portrayal of Kelso and compare it to his performance in The Butterfly Effect... he's not a simple one-trick pony.

I'm not so sure Rob Lowe could be a decent replacement either. He used to be a bad boy like Charlie but in recent years has cleaned up his act so I can't see him measuring up to the challenge of Charlie's character. Rob grew up and Charlie hasn't yet.

Having said that, I've never been able to watch that show. I don't like the immoral lessons it teaches to our young people.

Never knew about the show. I only discovered the show when Sheen had bad press. So I watched some of one, didn't hold my interest at all.

I knew of Ashton before I knew of Demi. I still have no idea why Demi is famous other than she acts and don't really care to know more

I think another part of Demi's fame comes from that fact that she and Bruce Willis had an unusually long Hollywood marriage. It was (or seemed to be, at any rate - and AFAIK they are still on good terms) a happy marriage in an industry that is not particularly known for wedded bliss.

I knew Demi in the 80's, almost before Ashton was born...

I used to watch the show, not often, but I'm familiar with it. But I think maybe they should just let it die. At this point, Jake isn't even 1/2 man anymore. And IMO, it's just gotten a lot worse over the years.

I did like Berta. And Holland Taylor who plays the mother. I had seen her in something else, too, but I don't remember what the show was. She's been around for quite a while.

Yes, Rob Lowe has cleaned up his act, BUT he could quickly dirty it up again with his history
. The show is definitely not the best for young children or young teens to watch, but then there are soooooo many inappropriate shows/movies out there available for them to watch. I do enjoy this show, it just makes me laugh and I really like the premise of the good brother versus the bad brother. I am sorry Charlie made a mess of his life because that show won't be the same without him no matter who they replace him with.

i love two and a half men. it was one show my dad and i could enjoy together

i LOVE charlie sheen. personally, i think the way he is acting is just the way he is, he's prolly playing it up SOME but i dont know why someone would put their whole career, family, children, and life in jeopardy the way he has if he wasnt truley mentally ill in some way.

as for kutcher...i was in love with him, and still am, as the character he plays in that 70s show. other than that he sucks big time. every movie hes in is lame. punk'd was a joke. and he just seems boring anytime i see him as a normal person. i am interested to see what his character on two and a half men will be like though..its worth a shot, he was hilarious in that 70s show!

Someone said Charlie Sheen is an idiot, and I have to take exception to that. He is brilliant -- even his wildest rants have the flow and structure of genius. Nope, he is not stupid. What he IS is crazy! Probably bipolar, as Natalie said. Bipolar people are often incredibly smart and incredibly charming... which certainly fits Charlie.

However, I just can't watch the show anymore. I loved it in the first few years, but drifted away after that -- and recently, when I watched a current episode for the first time in years, I was just sickened. It used to be smart, funny, and risque -- now it's just plain nasty. I agree... it just needs to end.
