I just looked around and don't see a single kitty! Not even Abby who always has to keep me in her line of sight! They're all off in their hidey-spots having naps!

Amazing how just seeing them, even if they are sleeping, is so comforting.

Isn't it funny how that happens sometimes? Even with seven, there are times here when no one's in the same room as me. I usually just call, "Kitties! Where's a kitty?! I need a kitty!" and someone (usually Henry or Ichabod) will almost always come running.

We live in an RV with 8 cats. It always amazes me when we come in from somewhere - and don't see a single cat!

If ours are snoozing, no one comes running unless I holler TREATS!

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
I honestly don't know how people who don't have animals go home to an empty house?
When i get home from the office just after 2 pm, their all upstairs on my bed napping, but they must hear me putting my key in the door, because as soon as l open the livingroom door Rosie is sitting right beside it, then Sophie trots down, then Jack.

Rosie must have heard me as l closed the front door today because when l opened the door she was running half way down the stairs
But when she was poorly for 3 days on my bed with her tail it was awful not being greeted by her

Aww, I can completely relate! Like your Abby, Genever is almost ALWAYS in the same room as me or BF, if not on us. Dorothy mostly does her own thing, sleeping in the bedroom during the day, then in the spare room or living room later before the sun sets because the sun shines in those windows. Sometimes, though, I don't know where Genever is, and I feel like "Hey, where is everyone? I'm so alone!"

Same thing when I walk in the door. Genever pretty much always runs into the kitchen to greet us. On the few times she doesn't, both my BF and I get all concerned, like something must be wrong! G-cat's not here! Usually, though, she's just napping and I guess way too comfy to bother to get up to say hello.

My husband and I are retired - relatives mostly in other states or far away.
So, we have 8 cats that live with us
.

I was just telling my husband the other day that each room is full of life - it's neat to have them - even when they're asleep.

I agree with your comment - Natalie_ca:

how true, how true!

Yes, I know how you feel!!! I love to be able to look around and see one of my cats, even if they are curled up napping. It is a comforting feeling to me as well
. Pipsqueak follows me everywhere, even when he wants his afternoon nap, he likes to keep me in his line of sight. I like to see my kitties too and feel lonely without them.
