Rome (tv series)

My co-worker came in this morning with the entire collection of DVDs for Rome....I guess it was on for two seasons. He said I'd really enjoy the series. I'm going to start watching the DVDs after Memorial Day weekend.

Has anybody watched this show? Do you recommend it?

Very good! My husband and I loved it. I don't think we got to see the second season yet though, for some reason.

It is in a word, EPIC!

I can't believe the show was canceled after the second season. Greedy networks apparently just thought the show was too expensive to make, but its worth it as the attention to detail is great. BTW, are they actual DVDs or BluRay? As the series is shot in really high definition.

Other great similar ones are The Tudors (about King Henry's younger years) and Game of Thrones (think Lord of the Rings type of style). Quite a bit of violence and bow-chica-wow-wow in all these series, so definitely something for after the kids are asleep.

LOVED it. Wish there had been more seasons! I believe there was a fire that destroyed the set(s) but I don't know if that's why it was cancelled.

It took me a couple of episodes to start liking it (so give it a chance) and after that I was completely taken in with it.
