I read this:
YES! Polydactyls make great pets. For some reason polydactyls seem to inherit a tendancy to be extremly affectionate and mellow.

on the polydactyl's for sale site...
can anyone confirm this?

Affectionate? We call Elwood the "scarf", as he likes to sleep wrapped around your neck. He starts to purr the moment you walk into the room with him. We've heard him purring over the phone (he lives in Denver).

Mellow? Definately. He'd rather lounge than play anyday. He only plays because his brother Jake drags him into it. He's chosen to hang out with the 18 year old boy since he doesn't move around much.

By the way, one of Elwood's front paw toes has turned more into a fold of skin, and there isn't a claw there. So, the vet is calling him 6 toed rather than his original 7 toed cat. He still has 6 toes on his back legs.

Time to bump this thread up. This one is for you Sicycat!

Elwood, a few weeks ago. He is my poly orphan that my friend adopted. You can see most of his 7 toes. Bad camera - we gotta get my friend a better digital!

In the Cougars den
Kim, Aurora is poly on all 4 feet. She has 2 extra toes on each front foot and 1 extra on each back foot. With Pixie Bobs, according to the TICA rules, they are the only cat breeds that are not disqualified from shows, because of the extra toes. They can not, however, have more than 7 toes per foot. I love poly feet!!
