Question of the Day: Thurs. May 19 2011

Good morning.

It has to be a quickie question today as I am in a hurry to get going this morning....

How are your mornings? Relaxed? Rushed? Are you a morning person? How long does it take you to get going?

Relaxed. I am a morning person. I get up earlier just to louse around here for a bit.

Yes, me too!

I get up about 3 or 4. I like to wake up nice and slow.

I hate mornings, but I'm not usually too rushed. Maybe if I'm going into the office, but I do still tend to wake up in plenty of time.

I'm OK, as long as I've not had a really late night. But I've always been more of a night owl. I have a hard time pulling those bed covers back and getting out of bed, but once I'm up, I'm usually OK.

Didn't used to be that way though. Years ago, before he left for work, DH would set the alarm clock for me to get up. The alarm would ring, I'd get out of bed, stumble over to smack the alarm button back down, and then stumble back to bed. I was always late and running around. One time, he got so frustrated that he put the alarm clock up inside the light on the bedroom ceiling! I kept hearing it ring, but couldn't find it anywhere. Then it hit me that the sound was coming from above me. Got up on the bed, reached up and smacked the alarm button. And went back to bed! (Yes, I was rather pathetic....I hated mornings.)

I worked a swing-shift for 18 years. And on third-shift, I was the only one still bouncing around at 5:00 in the morning, all perky and wide awake. And when we were on first shift, I was always the one who fell asleep around 10:00 in the morning. Thank goodness, I don't have to do that anymore.

My story for years was: I think I'm allergic to mornings (DH had even given me a large Snoopy poster years ago that said that.)

I get up and GO GO GO.... 2 older dogs to care for, four cats to get fed and clean up after and some foster's are coming into my spare room. My mornings are very, very busy. But it is a labor of love for sure

I go in cycles. Right now I'm not a morning person because of Gary. He has trouble sleeping, and he seems to fall asleep right around the time we used to be getting up LOL. But I'm like Lauren - get up and go go go. There's kitties (inside and out), litter boxes, Gary, and then a shower. Then things settle down because we don't have to head into an office for work.

I am retired so am not any schedule. I get up whenever I am totally awake, if not, I just turn over

I can get up and get going, but I prefer a slower pace. A nice cup of coffee on the deck when it is warm outside.

I'm not a morning person, sometimes mornings are rushed depending on how quickly I get out bed. Also depends on how quickly the kittens eat. I make sure they are fed before I leave. Midnight eats everything in 1 lap, Luna eats 1 bite at a time lol.
