Got out yesterday between the raindrops to get some pics of the yard. Everything is sooooo green. Just way too much rain.

My dh just mowed the ravine 5 days ago. The water went down quite a bit over night, but yesterday he would have needed scuba gear!

A couple of ducks were swimming in it yesterday.

Thats Buddy on the bottom and Arthur and Hister on the shelf, enjoying a brief respite from the rain. Buddy is waiting for a chipmunk who has a hole nearby. Sometimes I put birdseed on a stool and the chipmunks climb up to eat. Man, the kitties are all lined up on the shelf, tails twitching.

So near, yet so far!!

You love them too??

It's a good thing I do love them....about all that will grow in all the shade we have.

I love the big "blue" ones....or varigated.

What are your faves?

Your yard is beautiful! I love hosta, too, but we don't have a lot of shade for hosta plants. Ours stays out in the sun during the summer. We have started to plant hosta around some of our tree trunks in the front yard, hoping that the plants will grow. It will help with mowing around the trees and I think it will look prettier.

That bleeding heart is so pretty! We have some, but they're not doing very well....again, I think it's because we don't have a lot of shade.

I love looking at pictures of yards and of peoples' flowers. Yours are gorgeous.

Your babies are pretty, too!

Your yard is gorgeous (and your cat enclosure isn't too shabby, either!).

I have to admit, all the rain we've been getting here has at least made everything very green and fresh-looking.

Grogeous, absolutely gorgeous! I'm a little confused, though. Do you not normally have a "pond" out there? When you said your DH mowed the ravine 5 days ago, I'm guessing that's where all that water is NOW?? Whatever, it looks like it belongs

What a lovely garden, soooooo green and I love the hostas, please send us some of your rain.
I always laugh when you guys say yard, your idea of a yard and ours is something compleatly different, yards (to us), are usually tucked out of the way and messy , concreat floors and just not nice, your yard is beautiful

We have been so busy, I haven't had a chance to thank you all for the nice comments on the yard.

It is normally dry in the ravine, except when the creek rises and comes back through the culvert under the road. It is all gone down now, but it will take a good while to dry out.

Thanks for the comments on the kittys enclosure. It is quite a sight when all 7 seniors are out there, lazing in the shade.
Lots of chippers to watch!

Hostas around trees are great. We have so many roots that are hard to mow around.

The willow does so well down there because of the damp soil.

Yes, oh my goodness, so much rain but after such an awful winter it feels so good to see GREEN!
