I've watched a couple of episodes. Jackson Galaxy is quite a character! Wish I could get him to come to our house with his magic guitar case...

I watched a couple episodes. Thought it was pretty good. He has good advice I thought.

I watched it earlier, and it was pretty good. It was mostly people not knowing how to deal with the cats, nothing wrong with the cats. There was one guy I just wanted to slap him silly. He was doing just exactly what he was told not to do. No wonder the cat scratches him.
I like Jackson Galaxy, though, he reminds me of DH without the goofy glasses.

Cat from hell! What a name for a show. The dog training shows have clever names but this show makes no qualms about it huh?
I saw a clip of the Sphynx. Reminds me so much of my own crazy gremlin, always looking for trouble and into something.

The dog whisperer gives out advice that most people don't know.

From episode 1 of My Cat From Hell though, with the black kitty, just asking for advice in the behavior forum would have given all of those tips within a day for free, and perhaps even a bit extra since as a show they can't really give product placement like we can here.

I just started the part w/ Lulu, and within two seconds its like *facepalm* the guy is all chasing the cat and yelling at Lulu loudly... its like cmon now, its a cat.

Still a fun show though, and will check out future episodes.

Not really.

And you said any good cat forum could give out advice, any good dog forum would give out solid advice or one of many local dog trainers.

Obviously the cat people on this show don't know the cat advice and are happy for help.

I find more people that don't know cats for various reasons.

Not a fan of Cesar Milan (Dog Whisperer). Not all dogs can get along if you just throw them in a group with other dogs and you can only manage dog aggression, not train them to be good with other dogs. I don't have Animal Planet anymore, but I saw a commercial at my aunt's house on my cat from hell.. looked interesting. When we had Animal Planet, I found Fatal Attractions interesting even though the people were dumb owning wild animals that they think are their best friends and end up killing them.

I'll admit I'm a Cesar Milan fanboi , as his advice has absolutely worked wonders on my sister's strong willed energetic Boxer.

The difference I see with the dog whisperer, is that he demonstrates the subtleties of interaction that you just don't get with most advice online, whereas it appeared to me from the first couple episodes that in My Cat From Hell he was dispensing very simple straightforward advice you could get most places.

Having watched a couple more episodes though, I can say I was premature in saying that, as he did start becoming more hands on and delving into behavior and advising more specific products to help. Definitely worth watching for any cat fan regardless though, and I enjoy it.

I watched a few episodes of it yesterday. It was okay. Like someone mentioned, it was really educating people on how to take care of cats, not fixing cat's behaviors.

This show, and the other show "House Cat, House Call" that I dont see anymore.. all seem to have the same solution for every cat problem "Build verticle shelving! Bring the cat up high".

I don't see this show lasting long or being a hit like "Its Me or the Dog"

Good point, as like him or not, Cesar gets really hands on and doesn't just address behavior issues of the caretakers. As he likes to say, he doesn't just train people, he rehabilitates dogs.

For example, his desensitizing treadmill chamber and addressing post-traumatic stress syndrome for the shell shocked dog and what not was just very interesting. He wasn't just showing up and recommending a couple changes in the house environment and coming back in a week.

One thing thats in the favor of dog shows in general though is that sense of real danger. When Cesar approaches a very dangerous big dog with fangs flying, there is real tension, similar to the excitement Irwin (RIP) brought working with crocs and the like. With kitties, while obviously they can get ya good, its not the same. *shrugs*
