... just for an annual check-up, you drive 45 minutes in stop-and-go traffic to the tune of two *screaming* cats, even though there are other vet offices closer to home.

That was my morning, folks! Fortunately, everyone is back home now, and things have calmed down a bit. I may have a few more grey hairs, though, than I did when I left the house!

A good vet is always worth the hearing loss. I took Aoibhe to an eye specialist which was a 40 minute drive. She started yowling from minute we left the drive way. I figure we could part traffic if I rolled down the window as she was beginning to sound like a siren.

LOL - I have 4 meezers. I take 3 on one trip and the 4th goes to the vet in another trip with the 2 dogs. Neither trip is real pleasant. I usually spray the cat's crates with Feliway Spray about 10 minutes before putting them in the crates. It does help... somewhat. The problem with the spray is; As soon as I bring it out the cats know something is up. Getting them into the crates is really the chore of the day

Every cat I've ever had has meowed in the car (I can see how it would be a scary experience for them), but these two yesterday were really something else. There's nothing quite like the sound of two angry meezers (I failed to mention their breed in my first post!).

Fortunately, they don't fight much when I put them into their carriers. They just get really, really agitated when they realize they're leaving the house!

Before we lost Much last summer, there were times when Carly, Lucy and she had to go to the vet at the same time. The chorus was rather inventive.

Lucy: Meow
Carly: meow
repeat back and forth for about 10 times
then Much had to mew
then back to Lucy and Carly trading it back and forth.

It wasn't too bad except when Lucy had to howl when it was her turn. She has an ear-splitting howl.

That's what tweezers are for.

Thankfully ours all quiet down after the first 10 minutes are so.

Hope everyone came home with flying colors and happy results!

Amen to that! My vet is about a 45 minute drive away for me, too, but he's amazing and I wouldn't trade him for someone five minutes up the street. It helps that he's known me since I was itteh bitteh, too.

Peanut likes to howl along to the radio while we drive...
