Music Sleeping and your cat

Alright so my wonderful kitty cat angel, is sleeping on my bed and I'm sitting across my room screwing around on the computer.
So my question is, do cats like it more sleeping in silence or with a nice tune?

I'm listening to 'high' by James Blunt on a low volume. I think she digs it. It's a good song man.

Ok I'm new and this heart is ing sweet. : D

Classical music and harp music have gotten rave reviews by a lot of cats and their owners.
I play classical music when I am taking my love bug Ritz to the vets. Or transporting feral cats to get spayed/neutered (TNR). They either really like the music or scared silent, because I never hear a peep/meow from either/any bunch.

I am at home during the day and have the radio playing on the laptop throughout. It sits on the dining table and my cat often chooses to sleep on a chair right under it - seems he is a Radio 2 fan! (UK station). I think that a lot of cats find music soothing

My business is composing music (all styles) and my cats are in the studio with me all day. They love the music! When the computers go on and I start working on on a song it is a signal to them to settle down and relax for the day.

If they get up and leave the the studio when I first start working on a track, I throw it away and start over. Over time I've learned to trust their opinion. What they love, my customers usually love. They are a valuable tool for me (too bad I can't use them as a business write-off on my taxes!)

Hey there!

I am also a professional musician- I don't compose, wish I could, but I play flute and piano. When I practice, Peanut just kind of hangs around and does whatever he usually does, which is typically sleep.

Personally, I don't think they care.

Wesley sleeps like a baby in front of my monitor array which gets a bit toasty or on top of my warm computer tower (850 watts of fury puts out quite some heat) when I'm playing Crysis 2 to the sound of subwoofer explosions and surround sound machine gun fire. They also sleep soundly with paws in the air when I pump my favorite drum&bass which as most know has a very high tempo. If I'm ignoring them and not moving around the house, they just tend to go into "standby" mode no matter what, heh.

The only noise that seems to bother them is noise that they don't recognize or comes from a direction that they don't expect in my experience.

Mitsy almost certainly likes Enya and will curl up to sleep in the room where it is playing
I didn't know that other cats seem to like music too!
