By allowing him to get this snuggley! 
Poor Ichabod desperately wants to cuddle with the other cats (he cuddles with us, but he loves other cats, he is sooooo social, so that's not enough to suit him) but they are all DONE with kittens and aren't having it. 
Occasionally, Meeko either takes pity on him or else decides it's just too much work at 16 to get up and leave when Ichabod flops down, I'm not sure which, and Ichabod doesn't care which! Oh, and that's Phineas's side to the left.

Ichabod reminds me of a young Meeko, actually! Meeko was very much the same way, very, very social with both people and other cats, loved to cuddle with and groom the other cats, very loving in general - which I guess is why he's still sweet enough to tolerate Ichabod sometimes.
