Skimbleshanks the Hobo cat has always been my boy that will eat anything, and will do whatever it takes to get it. His bestest buddy among the females is my lil' deaf kitty, Peanut Butterum.

Just now, Peanut Butterum hopped up into my lap, gave me a little licky kiss, purred for a few seconds...then stole a cheese doodle and made a run for it!

Hobo is being a bad influence.

I was totally picturing this in my head
! The silent getaway, was she so obvious, or did she try to make a run for it when you weren't looking?

Funny! She buttered you up first so you wouldn't be mad! The way you described it, it is easy to make a visual picture!

Imagine if there were thumbs to go along with all of that kitty mischievousness?

If they had thumbs and a credit card, they wouldn't need me for anything.

At the kitty's beck and call
I love it - clever little girl!

As much as I love that 'cats with thumbs' advert (am glued to it everytime it comes on
) I have to think do they really need thumbs??? After all, their staff seemed to be so well-trained to do all their bidding, thumbs hardly seem necessary

Sneaky kitty
. I could just picture that too
My cats are not as clever about stealing nibbles, in fact, they are just darn right rude about it

Aww thats cute.

Speaking of bad influences. Our cats get mouthy when we give them trouble for things. They all have a bad habit of going on the counters. Mischief started the mouthing off first. Now they ALL do it. Sometimes I wonder what they are actually saying. It's always just a little short Mrow Mrow mrow.

OMG, picturing that is cracking me up!
Love it!

My Oliver is 5 months older than his "brother" Ichabod, and while it's great that they're growing up together and are best buddies (because God knows the adult cats don't want anything to do with two rambunctious kittens
) Oliver is a HORRIBLE influence. Ichabod came home at 6 weeks old when Oliver was 6 months old and already learned in the art of causing chaos and destruction
and he's been teaching it to Ichabod ever since (most recently, the joy of climbing over the rack of clean dishes and into the back of the dishwasher to relax while it's still warm
).

This is so not good! He actually jumps into the dishwasher? Please don't let this keep happening, nothing good came come from this. One person who isn't aware of cats climbing into your dish washer........

Of course I'm not letting it happen. If I was cool with it I wouldn't have cited it as an example of bad influence.
When we (roommate/friend and I) see it, we squirt them (once), say a firm, "NO!", remove them, and place them firmly on the floor.

That said, I'm concerned about the clean dishes, not the kittens. Not because I don't care about my kittens - because it's nigh on impossible for them to be harmed. You can only get the dish tray half way in with even one of them in there, so there's no way they could ever be shut in, and we'd never think to slam the tray in, since it's full of glass dishes, so they're not going to get smushed by the tray. I'm really relaxed about this sort of thing.

The pinch was really sneaky, she had the doodle before I knew she was even after it. The getaway, however, was a very obvious, "hit the ground running" affair.

Sometimes the staff can be rather dense
and pretends not to understand the meow command.

Aoibhe tried to steal a turkey breast off of the counter that was a large as she was right in front of DH. It was a wrestling match between DH and this 7 lb kitten. She almost won.
