Hey guys...
I won't be around for a while...
20 days in total
we're off to new zealand to snow board

But anyway...
I was just wondering if you'll all send my kitties some
comfort vibes while i'm not around...
I've never been away from them for so long before...
I feel awful...
I'm sort of dreading going on saturday evening...
I just know i'll be bawling my brains out every now and then...
I hope their okay...
Has any one else ever left their cats alone for so long before?
What happens?
Are they okay when you get back?
We have friends who will be cat sitting but they work and i don't so my poor babies will be alone all day...
*sigh....
anyway...

I've left my cats for as long as 2 weeks. The first several times I hired a pet-sitter. Then my oldest niece became old enough to house sit, so they have regular compaionship whilst I'm away. They always do fine with her. She loves them. She can't have cats because her mom's allergic. I'll be sorry when she gets married this December because then I've lost a great cat-sitter.
Don't know what I'll do then.

have a great vaca, and be safe!

The longest for me was three days and four nights at the hospital delivering my son. I felt so bad leaving him alone and I missed him alot. Luckily, the hospital is a few minutes away so my hubby would go check on him and took some of my son's clothes so that he get used to his smell. I feel bad for your kitties also, it will be tough, but they'll adjust, and luckily they have each other to play with.

Enjoy your vacation and get lots of exercise skiing. Don't forget sunblock lotion for your face!! Lots of huuuuugs and meows from us.

Aw we'll miss you!
I'm sure they'll be fine. Just leave specific instructions for the sitter, emergency vet numbers too.

I left Spike for 17 days last summer, but I was really lucky having my mom and sister around to kittysit for me. I did end up calling home almost every other day to check up on him and stuff... I just couldn't help it. He's my baby!
But he really was fine, and didn't even snub me when I got back.

I also kittysat for Jamie (Luv Those Paws) while she was gone for a week or so earlier this summer. Her girls were just fine as well. I just made sure to stop in twice a day and give him attention along with doing the kitty chores.

Hey - there is internet in NZ - maybe you can log in? Don't forget you can call home and reassure yourself on how the kitties are doing. I have left them for a week with the catsitter and some do better then others. Prepare to be either ignored or mobbed when you return. Have a great holiday!

Yzma - I know where the internet cafes are in christchurch, they are in the square in the city.

I cant wait to hear all about your trip - and if you make this a yearly visit, I hope, once I go home to the land of the long white cloud, we can meet up!
