So Turtle's daddy is moving away in 15 days!!!!!!!!!!

I've been wracking my brain thinking of a proper gift for him. Something unique, personal and touching. I think I got an idea that's great, but want some feed back on it.
I got a flip video cam when Carolina had her auction a few months ago. I want to use it to videotape his friends and repeat customers sending their well wishes and words of encouragement and love to him. Then I want to wrap it up and give him the whole thing. He could always have us with him if things got rough or he got homesick.
If something like that was given to any of you would you find it touching? Is it good enough? Honestly, after my recent health issues, money is just not there for something big and fancy. You all know how good he's been, not only to me--but to Turtle as well.
Sometimes I get these semi good ideas about gifts and then chicken out at the last minute. I know you guys will be honest about it and I'm ready to listen to it. Thanks in advance

I agree! What a wonderful and thoughtful gift! Those are the kinds of gifts that I appreciate over all others.

I think it's a great idea to include Turtle in the videos too!

And while you're at it, you need a new signature!!

I completely agree with the others. What a wonderful (and special) gift idea.

Yes, I think it's like receiving a special hand-made gift that is specific to the recipient. It would be perfect. If you happen to know someone who is exceptionally clever, maybe they could help you make it into a form of sit-come or "roast" type video (if your friend is into that type of thing). That could be really fun!

I agree with everyone that your gift idea is a great one! I love personal gifts. It's especially fitting because your friend is moving away, so it will be extra special for him to have those memories on video. It's very thoughtful and, well, priceless.

I think it's perfect. Maybe you could be the voice of Turtle when you film her.
Something like, "dad, I love you and don't worry....I am in good hands with my new mom."

He would cherrish this I think.

I'm a little late chiming in here, but I just wanted to agree - I think it's a really thoughtful gift - one he will REALLY love and appreciate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially if Turtle's talking to him!

I think that will be a very special gift for him and he will cherish it forever
. I would ask someone to do some footage of you and Turtle together. What a wonderful, thoughtful gift.
