Growling,Meowing,Hissing

I have a cat who I have had who is 9 now. She has been doing a lot of hissing, growling, and meowing when you get close to her. I can get close to her, but when anyone else does she is constantly growling and meowing. I am not sure what is going on. I did just recently move in with my fiance and I am trying to make her as comfortable as possible. I am not sure what I can do for her. She is front declawed and she seems to be favoring those paws but she had been declawed since she was kitty. So I would think she would be fine with it by now. This is new behavior for her. I am wondering if maybe kitty litter got into her paws and it is irritating her. But she wont let me get close cause she just growls and hisses. Does anyone have any advice for me on this? Anyone dealing with the same situation?

Thank You, MissPrissyKitty

Change of behavior happens when there's a major change in the cat's routine. Like you said, you just moved to a new place and perhaps your fiance is a stranger to her.
Let her adjust to the new surroundings at her own pace. Use calming remedies. Avoid petting her if she does not want to be petted or picked up. Be patient.

If she's limping on her front paws, I'd have her checked out by a vet.
It doesn't matter when she was declawed, it involves removing the last bone of the toe which can cause arthritis, so she may be upset because she is in pain.

I would definitely think it's time for a checkup. Even if it's due to the recent change in her routine. Grab her by the scruff (lie a Mama cat would) of the neck to get her into a carrier, etc.

I agree with the importance of taking her to the vet ASAP. Please let us know what happens

I am not sure what you mean by calming remedies? I have never heard of these terms, but I am also new to cat forums. This is the first one I have ever joined.

I am really worried about her hissing all the time. I do not pet her when she doesnt want to be. I let her come to me when she wants the attention. I also have not seen her limping or anything either. I am sure it is just that she is still getting used to the environment. It is a big change after all, even for me. So I understand how she feels.

How long has it been since you moved? How was she introduced to the new home? Are there other pets in the home?

You said she was favoring her front paws. To me that = limping.
