I'd like to share a news item from the Philippines where I come from.
http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/inquire...ling-stray-cat
Animal abuse convictions here involve more on the illegal dog meat trade. I think this is the first time that it concerns one animal and one individual.
However, years ago I told you about two boys beating a cat to death. The owner filed charges but later dropped them after the boys were put on volunteer work and subjected to psychiatric evaluation.
Back to the news report, maybe some of you find the fine of US$50 low or surprised that it took 2 years to resolve. But it is good to know that there were people fighting for justice for a poor stray cat.
