Neighbor cats in my house

My cat likes to be inside and out, we have a cat door into the garage, and then out to the outside. Lately though, the neighbor cats have decided that the food for our cat, inside the house, is theirs, and they keep coming into the house.

I don't really want to keep feeding the neighborhood cats, nor do I want to have them start thinking this is their house and start spraying. Is there a way to keep other cats out other than blocking off the cat doors?

There are special pet doors that use a proximity sensor on a collar to lock and unlock the door. Similar to the passes you use at your work's parking garage, building access, and keyless cars/motorcycles.

Ultimately though, IMO kitties should be kept in doors or in the back yard w/ catproof fencing if at all possible (live much longer since they aren't exposed to dogs/cars/poisons/etc, don't bring in parasites/disease they can pickup w/ can harm your family, and don't harm wildlife).

I was considering that, putting the cat fence stuff on the fence and restrict our cat to the backyard only. Would those cat fences keep other cats out though, or just trap them in once they get in?

All the ones I have seen only keep your cats in really, not other cats out. However, it would still be challenging to get up the smooth side of a regular 6ft fence + the typically angled fencing especially if you get the collapsible type (cats won't climb what doesn't feel sturdy) to the point I think it would be highly unlikely you'd run into the problem.

I always have neighbor cats by the front of my house, especially on my old Impala SS right after I get home since the hood is really warm, but so far never in the back yard.
