We are to have showers, showers and more showers tomorrow (Saturday). DH left for Louisville this morning, so I'm on my own for several days. I think I'm going to spend the day in the kitchen.

We have that party coming up and I'd like to get some things done ahead of time. So I'm going to make two sheets of Tuscan Flatbread and then throw them in the freezer. There's a new-to-me recipe for Divine Breadsticks that I want to try....I'm thinking that smaller breadsticks might made good dippers. I got my new palm tree and flamingo cookie cutters from eBay, so I'm going to make rolled sugar cookies; my sister said she'd help me decorate them for the party. They can go into the freezer for now. And I know that I can make the Crab and Muenster Cheesecake and freeze it for a month because I've done it before.....two weeks should be fine.

I'm looking forward to a good time in my kitchen tomorrow. I really haven't had a good baking day in quite awhile, and, since the weather's supposed to be crappy anyway, it's a good day to spend in the kitchen.

And if it turns out that Saturday is nicer than what the local weatherweenies are thinking, well, then I can spend Saturday outside in the garden and Sunday will be a good baking day instead.

Sounds like a good plan to me! I agree, cooking or baking, doing something warm in the kitchen, is a great way to spend rainy days.
