We don't need one more incident around here...

The last day has been rough on my poor girl.

Last night she was in a MOOOOOD and driving me crazy. She had more food in her chair than in her belly after dinner and Mommy did more standing up than eating herself...

So I had Tressa down on the floor playing while DH and I sat at the bar in the kitchen finishing our dinner. Tressa was right next to my stool when she fell and busted her lip open good!! Like it dripped blood and still is all swollen and fat today! It could have been worse...but still!

Then this morning she was finishing up her breakfast and I was running my hand through her hair... I felt a scab behind her ear so I looked...It was hanging off but it wouldn't pull off....so I looked closer. It was a TICK!!

I put olive oil on it (because that's what worked on my cat) and was able to pull it all out with tweezers. I cleaned it with a betadine (sp?) solution and then I gave her a bath and cleaned it with alcohol afterward. You can't even see where it was attached; but it definitely was!!

Of course when I found it her Pediatrician's office had just gone to lunch. But I've since talked with them and know what to look for. I also called 2 of my best friends who reassured me...but man I'm still upset! We do baths for her in the mornings because it's easier. But I feel sooo guilty for not finding the darn thing last night!!! My grass didn't get cut last week and we were playing outside last night. So some of the grass is up to her knee. It should have been me... I should have known to put some bug spray on her (I have natural stuff) even though we weren't going to be out long. I know stuff happens...but still!

Ah that is for sure!

She has a small pink bump where the tick was but she seems fine otherwise. The lip looks worse than anything! It almost looks like she's got a big blister on her lip! Like a deflated one. It's sort of white with a tint of brown or something. Not sure how to describe it. It's still a bit swollen too.

It's always something with our skin kids. My daughter had a knack for falling down and getting cuts, scrapes and bruises where they were visible. She fell against the coffee table and split her cheek, had numerous fat lips, and even a black eye. If I didn't know for sure and been present to witness most of the clumsiness, I would have thought she was horribly abused.
