Well, because of Caspar and the notion that we were adopted the day we could literally GOTCHA, I ended up voting for May 6.

For all of those that voted for July 17, just wanted to let everyone know, we celebrated it too.

Chumley's come SUCH a long way in the year he's been over here inside full time.
Moving here set him back quite a bit in his "comfort zone." Too many kitties. But in just the past few weeks, he's really blossomed.
He now meows at me when he wants pets, not just for when he wants to play.
He's getting more and more comfortable with being petted with hands, not just my head.

And a number of times I've said "Hi, Spooky," when a brown tabby suddenly appeared next to me - only to find out it was Chumley, not Spooky! (Both in the living room and the bedroom!
).

He's been exploring more places he hadn't yet discovered - and just generally moves around with more comfort and ease. He completely ignores coughs, sneezes, dropped items (that can still send Lazlo running LOL), and knows that when I pick him up, I'm going to put him back down.

Ah! That's progress!

I'm sure you know when I say I feel your joy over the littlest advancement.

I think I would just burst if I didn't have this forum to share our socialization advancements - even the seemingly small event is so huge because the cats are feeling safe with us - and not many people would understand.

(And my poor Casper went to the bridge that day.. So another kitty found his new home. Kinda seems like some universal balance thing. Yes, I'm insane.)
I agree with you! You also aren't insane, I believe that everything is balanced like that, too!
