hi all im new here but im worried about my cat,

basically she was a stray that adopted us and she was pregnant. this morning (9 hours ago) i saw some mucus coming from her vagina then it stopped then a few hours later i saw some more, its stopped again, this is the first time i have a pregnant cat and im getting worried maybe she has a problem going into labour. both me and the vet think she's under a year old but as she was a stray i cant know for sure, is this normal or do i need to call the vet again

also i should add that she's still eating loads is that ok or not?

please help de-stress me

than you in advance

You may have seen her losing her "mucous plug." However, keep a close eye on her. Especially if she's a first-time mom, she may well have problems delivering and need vet help. Don't panic yet, and check back here to see what others have to say. Ask as specific a question as you can, and you would be amazed how quickly someone will answer it.

They can lose this mucus plug also several days before.

they often stop eating several hours before delivery, they can also have some loose poo before delivery.
Although these are no 100% always.

If she herself seems unworried, keep and eye but dont worry too much.

Good you apparently do have access to a vet if need be.

Good luck!

ok update.

still no labour or drop in appetite.

should i be getting worried now or not?

Im no veterinarian nor even med doc. But as I understand it is no reason to worry much.
One of the difficulties is, most rescuers dont know exactly when it began. So the long wait is the only real alternative.
Besides, unlike humans, kittens are very vulnerable for too early delivery. So dont wish an early deliviery! A too late delivery has also risks, but they are smaller...

Please, look on the recent threads. Some people was in exactly same situation not far ago.... you will also get a better hang on what to do AFTER the delivery.

Good luck!
