Crystals in Urine.. how to tell?

Hi all,

I read a few posts about people's cats having crystals in their urine. Googling gives me a better idea of what it is, and how it's caused.

but it failed to tell me how to tell if a cat has it? Does it look different? are there actually tiny "Crystals" coming out? Is it a guess when the cat urinates outside the box or by accident?

I know my cat doesn't have it, but this is something I want to keep in mind, as it seems to be common issue here.

You are not going to see the crystals, they are far too small. You will simply see the symptoms of a urinary issue. Litterbox avoidance, blood or very strong smell from the urine, straining to urinate, urinating frequently in only tiny clumps, etc.

You can't see the crystals. None of my cats have had them but from what I've read you have to look for the symptoms. Blood, difficulty urinating, maybe urinating outside the litter box. Strong odor from the urine. If you have any questions about it at all it's worth a vet visit.
