I haven't been well the last few days so I haven't been playing with Spencer and Katie as much as I normally do. Spencer plays fetch everyday because when I'm in bed he brings his toy to me to throw for him. Katie on the other hand either plays with Spencer of alone with a toy, or has been cuddling with me. Typically I have an 1/2 hour Da Bird session with them every evening.

Apparently they've been missing it!

I pulled out Da Bird from the closet where I keep it when not in use. I put it on top of my deep freezer while I went into the kitchen to get a drink and a snack.

They know where it is, and they are running around like little tornadoes in anticipation!
They're so cute!!! Even Abby gets in on it a little bit. But mostly from a perch on the cat tree.

Where my cats are
Aw! I have to hide our Da Bird and Cat Dancer up on the top shelf of a closed closet because my 2 will destroy them! LOL! We stopped at Petsmart for some cat food yesterday and there was a lady and man looking at toys for their new cat and I recommended Da Bird. She was saying they had recently lost their cat of many years and adopted a new; young cat. Not a small kitten; but still at that energetic stage and they'd forgotten what that was like! LOL!

These 2 sure love that toy! The first time I pulled it out for them they were about 5 months old or so. They destroyed it in 2 sessions! I put it away after that until they got a bit older, and pulled out a more durable wand toy.

I just pulled out Da Bird a month or so again, and they still love it but aren't so aggressive to it.

I have a toy called fling a ma string or something along those lines. It's battery operated and hangs on a door knob. When turned on the round elastic goes around flinging a little bit of string when it comes around the top. They absolutely loved it to a point where one of them....I think Spencer, would grab the elastic and try and rip the toy right off of the door. I had to put that toy away too because he was on the way to destroying that one too. I'll pull it out again in a few months.

Kittens are lots of work, but OMG! They're so entertaining.

Abby and the kittens aren't cuddle buddies, but she has sure taught them stuff! Chynna
taught Abby to not scratch my furniture, and she never has. And now Abby has taught the kittens to not do that either and has shown them the proper scratching toys/boxes to use. Plus none of them jump on my counters in the kitchen. I couldn't ask for more well-behaved cats if I tried.

Mine only spaz out that much when I pull out a bag of Greenies treats. I throw one kibble at a time in common places high and low (high shelves, above the fridge, across the room etc), and even though they always get the same amount each time split evenly (3 each), they run and make huge superman leaps randomly to the popular places I might toss the kibble hoping to beat their sibling to the punch. Entertaining and good exercise I figure.

Mine are like that with the laser. If they hear the jingle of the chain they go nuts.
I'm sorry you've been feeling under weather - seems to be the Spring end of it.

That's too cute!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm SO glad to hear they're so well behaved - yet still such kittens!

Our kitties love da Bird - but in the RV we don't really have enough room to REALLY get it going. I tend to use the rabbit tail or the mouse attachments, and they do love those.
But it's the laser that really gets them nutso - piling over each other - it's hysterical!

I am picturing this and your whole RV rocking around
with all eight going at once.

Hope you feeling better
, Spring colds are the worst.
. But the cats always seem to make us laugh?!!! Lately, my cats are not as excited about Da Bird!!! I am stumped. I have a whole cabinet full of wand toys and when I open the cabinet they go crazy. I always play in the evenings for about one-half hour too. But lately, they kinda just watch me swinging the thing around. They make me feel like a fool, and boy do they have me trained.
Every evening Perla starts her little routine about pestering me to start the evening playtime. So I get started and she just sits there with a smirk
. I will not play Da Bird for a bit and go to some other toys for awhile. OH----- they do love the "red dot" and now we have a "green dot"

I find that mine get bored with Da Bird too. But I found the secret! I bought a refill package that had several different types of refills, and I change them up.

When they start to show boredom with one refill end, I take it off and put on a different one. They show renewed interest again.

I've seen some links in Google on how to make your own Da Bird ends. It didn't look that hard. The feathers get destroyed so quickly that I'm going to attempt to make my own once my refill supply runs out.

A glue gun
Feather or foil ends
Shrink wrap tub
Existing Da Bird wand.

It's just a matter of placing the feathers in such a way that the feathers flutter through the air instead of crashing to the ground.
