Dusty is missing - she's back!

To my knowledge, Dusty has not left the backyard in weeks/months. When I went to get her inside this morning she is not there - no where in the yard. I'm worried because she isn't well and I didn't think she had the strength to climb the fence. Send good vibes please. I'm desperate.

Thank you.

If she wasn't well why was she outside? Is she a stray? If they don't feel well, they go to ground and if they have regeneration powers, they will sleep and get better. If they don't, well then the opposite can happen. She is probably close (depending on what is wrong with her)

www.lost-pets.org can give you tips on what to do.

She was a stray when we got her 6 years ago. She was an outdoor cat then, and as much as we've tried to make her happy inside, that just isn't her choice. She hasn't left the backyard in the past several months, and I figured she just wasn't strong enough to climb the fence anymore. She spends the better part of the day sleeping on the patio furniture or under a bush in the yard.

She has CRF, but she has been eating really well and drinking plenty of water. I just don't know what to think at this point. I'm praying she will find her way home, and I have no idea how she got out.

Come home Dusty

that she returns safe and sound!

I'm sending lots of and hoping Dusty comes home today. My RB kitty Snowball had CRF also so I'm familiar with the condition. You didn't say how advanced Dusty's condition is, but CRF doesn't necessarily mean a cat is feeble and too weak to climb a fence. If she isn't happy being kept inside, you might need a special outdoor enclosure to keep her safe.

If you haven't found her by nightfall, an LED flashlight, even the cheap one's, will illuminate a cats eyes at pretty great distances. If she's close by but laying low, it might be a good way to spot her.

Really hoping she just pops back in on her own though.

Everyone's prayers and vibes must have worked. Dusty just came strolling up to the front door like nothing was wrong. Surprisingly she is dry, and we had a real doozy of a thunderstorm earlier this afternoon. Anyway she just ate like she had never missed a meal. I wonder if she wasn't in someone's garage, and when they came home from work she got out???

I was about to post the same thing. Maybe just because it's Spring? Very heartbreaking.

Maybe she was just feeling up to a walkabout. Those hit me sometimes too.

I'm glad dusty is home! I like the advice given... Build an outdoor enclosure to keep the kitties safe?

SO, SO happy to hear that she is home safe and sound.

That's great!

When I've had cats get out, they always came back and seemed so unconcerned about the whole thing.

That's the truth!

I normally don't sound an alarm, but she's usually right there wanting food first thing in the morning, and then when hours pass with her not showing up, that is cause for concern. She slept on my bed all night and never once begged to go out.
