1. I have been to Mexico as a country, but never Mexico City.
2. It was a vacation- we were in Cozumel and Belize.
3. I have heard of the Yucatan- probably in school at some point!
4. Very, very little... so no, not really.
5. I don't have any, unfortunately.
6. I have! I can't remember the title of it now... maybe Once Upon A Time In Mexico?

How did Peanut come to live with you?

Peanut was a barn cat on my parents' farm- we realized pretty early on that something was wrong with him, and when I took him to the vet he couldn't really say what it was, just a disability/impairment caused maybe by disease or injury. I took him in- I couldn't let him die!

Have you trained him to do any tricks?

No... I don't know how well that would go, actually.

Do you dress him up?

I tried once! I had a cute little hat I put on him. He wasn't amused.

What's your favorite holiday?

Christmas! It's the only time I get to see all of my family together.

What's your least favorite holiday?

Halloween. I used to love it, but now that I'm an adult- the older kids who come to my door really annoy me.

What was your favorite subject in school?

Band.

What was your least favorite subject in school?

Math.

What's your favorite movie?

Ooh, that's a good question... let's see. I really love horror movies, so I'd have to say right now my favorite is still The Ring.

Hi there~ thank you!!!

1. I am a music teacher! I teach private lessons to about 30 kids- flute, piano, and oboe.
2. I got Peanut from my parents- he's one of Dora's kittens.
3. I do! I have an Australian shepherd named Sylvie.
4. Yep- class of 2007!
5. New Mexico, for sure.

That would be the lead singer of Breaking Benjamin- Ben Burnley - and I'd probably keep him locked away for at least a week... to help him write new music, of course.

1. That's a good question! I can't really remember, but I've been around since 2009... mostly lurking until lately.

4. My favorite food is sushi, least favorite is BBQ. I have lots of favorite restaurants... La Familia for Mexican, Sushi Gin for sushi/Japanese, Chinese Palace for Chinese...
5. Favorite band is Breaking Benjamin. Author... I have a lot- right now I'm really waiting for the next Song of Ice and Fire book by George R. R. Martin. Favorite actor/actress- Mariska Hargitay.

7. I admire my dad's mom, who's passed away, quite a lot. She had a hard hand dealt to her in life and she always played it with grace and dignity.
8. Ian Anderson, from Jethro Tull- he's the reason I started playing the flute. I'd love to tell him that!
9. I'd get to chill on the couch with Peanut and Sylvie and my husband, and we'd just watch TV or play games or do whatever.
10. Growing up, we always had a ton of orange cats! I guess it's just how the genetics worked out. When I was eight I got my first "very own" barn kitten to raise, and then she had kittens and most of them were orange, and then she had more kittens and most of them were orange, then she was spayed (along with all the other girls and boys!) and we just had a multitude of orange barn cats running around.

Sorry to be late starting, but Welcome to the Spotlight! To start off, a few general questions, but there's a theme (mostly): Desert island, i.e. suppose you were stranded on one... and don't worry about the technology to support your choices, that will be taken care of somehow. Just dream...

1. What would be your five Desert Island CDs? They don't need to come from your own collection. Why would you choose these particular ones?

2. You might also want some reading material. What would be your five Desert Island books? Why?

3. What else would you like to have with you to occupy your time and your mind?

1. My favorite flutist is Ian Anderson- classical-wise, though, I like Laurel Zucker's work. It's nice and clean, and it's good for my students to listen to.

2. I have a Miyazawa 401, offset G, split E, C# triller, 14k gold riser, Staubringer pads.

3. I do! It's really fun. Playing it in church is always a blast.

4. My favorite piece is Concertino for Flute and Piano by Cecile Chaminade, with the Mozart in G coming in a close second... and then Fantasie Pastorale Hongroise by Doppler (or Hummel @.@ I get them confused for some weird reason!)

5. There was a Taffanel piece I played that I didn't care much for. Can't recall the name of it right now. I'm also not a fan of Debussy or St. Saens.

6. I can't- I'd love to learn how though!

7. Flutist, hehe- flautist sounds kind of pompous to me.

Oh goodness, I did skip this one! Many many apologies!!

1. Let's see... Breaking Benjamin- Phobia, Shinedown- The Sound of Madness, the Les Miserables soundtrack, Linkin Park- Hybrid Theory, and Vertical Horizon- Everything You Want. I think that'd be a good soundtrack.

2. Ooh books. I could talk about books forever.

The first book would be my Last Herald Mage anthology (3 books in one!) by Mercedes Lackey. I love love love that story. The main character, Vanyel, is probably by far one of the best protagonists I've ever run into!

The second book would be A Game of Thrones- book one of the Song of Ice and Fire series. I like it because the @#%& hasn't hit the fan yet and all my favorite characters are still alive... for now.

The third book would have to be A Strong and Sudden Thaw by R.W.Day. It's GLBT lit, so not for everyone, but it's a touching story.

For the fourth book I'll take another anthology- The Annotated Chronicles, by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman- it includes the Chronicles trilogy from Dragonlance. Love love love me some Dragonlance!

And for the fifth- the Bible.

3. ... actually, can I have my iPad? Then I can have a TON of books.

4. My husband makes a wonderful sausage pasta ala vodka- that's pretty much all I'd ever need, but if I get to pick a couple I'd also want the house special fried rice from Chinese Palace and the delicious Downtown Roll from Wa (a sushi joint in my hometown).

6. I'd get us a nice house- the one we're in now is good but it needs quite a bit of repair, and that's always expensive. The second thing is I'd set my parents up for life, too, or at least make them super comfortable... maybe Daddy could retire and raise more horses. The third thing, I'd get DH a Formula-One car... if I have enough money, that is! And finally, I'd pay off all our loans and such from school and put myself through my master's in flute performance. ... and if I can have a fifth, I'd get a Haynes flute.

Eee music~ my favorite thing ever!!

1. My favorite genre is rock, for sure! Pop is okay but after awhile it starts to grate on my nerves. Rock is good all the time.

2. Oh that's a good question- certainly over 100!

3. I really like Jason Wade from Lifehouse, and then the lead singer from My Darkest Days- but I think my favorite at the moment is the lead singer of Shinedown. Oh, but then I like the guy who used to lead for Evans Blue, too... ah, such a hard choice!

5. I haven't, but I'm going to go check it out now!

6. I do, yep- I have all of the Goo Goo Dolls albums, all of Breaking Benjamin, all of Vertical Horizon... and more!

7. Yes! I've seen Lifehouse 3 times, and then I took my Dad to see Nickelback for his birthday- I looove Nickelback- and opening for them was Sick Puppies, Shinedown, and Breaking Benjamin. Best concert EVER.

8. I am actually not a fan of jazz- I listen to Sirius/XM Octane most of the time, channel 37 for those of you who have Sirius!

9. I like mixes because it gives me a lot of variety to listen to- and that's how I get introduced to new music!

10. I have played lots of covers! I'm always playing random melodies of songs I like when I've got some downtime between lessons.

AH HA, so we are carrying this over from Tiger's to Orange's HUH!!!!!! Fine by me. . I almost rather walk the plank than play nice How bout you Tiff??? We could walk together and jump into our floating boat equipped with all of the necessities, especially lots of margarita's!!!!!!

1. I do cook- but because I work very late I usually only cook on the weekends. Otherwise it's up to DH, or else we get fast food/leftovers/nuke-a-foods from the store.

2. Noooot really. I don't share well- if someone's in my way too much I get cranky!

3. My favorite dish is asparagus sauteed in olive oil with garlic, over whole wheat pasta with parmesan cheese.

5. Macaroni and cheese from scratch. Ohhhhhh yeah.

6. Hmmm- I'm not entirely sure, like holiday food? I love green bean casserole!

7. I'm good for pretty much anything- no allergies! I'm not picky about a whole lot either, so if I came to someone else's home I would eat what was put before me- but if I had a choice, I would probably not eat cooked tomatoes (love 'em raw, not so much cooked).

8. Noooo... so Japan was a little rough on me. All of it was delicious, but I didn't ask what a lot of it was just in case.

9. Dinner! That's when I get to sit down and relax after a long day.
