I have a job interview in a different profession as I am tired of banking.

It is a customer service/sales position for a medical supply company so I would guess it would have some job security. When asked for a salary range what I quoted was right in their ballpark.

I really hope I get this job. I have been stagnant in so many aspects of my life lately that this will perk me up.

good luck to you zohdee, I've been in banking field for too many years now, I can relate to your wanting to switch things up!!

Be CONFIDENT at the interview, be yourself, be positive and upbeat and confident. You will get it!

best wishes and luck to you,

from a fellow-Ohio person :-)

I hate interviewing. I get nervous and tend to talk with my hands alot.

The only thing that worries me is a credit check. Its not horrible but not the best either. But, if I was hired at a bank.....

Thank you letter has been sent. I did that as soon as I got home. The interviews will be all week so she will most certainly have time to get it.

When I got the job at the bank, I was told by the manager that the thank you letter was a huge bonus with my interview. He said so many don't bother to send those out anymore.

My current job is the only one I have wanted to leave in my working career. Its not the customers or the job, it is how the company treats those who do all the work. We get NO incentives for doing a good job, that all goes to the branch manager. So, we make out monthly goal, he/she gets a $500/month bonus and a HUGE yearly bonus if we meet training and monthly goals.

Our current manager has not put in a full work week yet. Way less than 40 hours and we do all of their work.

I am so second guessing myself. I am not feeling confident now. When I was asked about a struggle at work I could not come up with one. Learning things comes easy to me.

I think I bombed it.

Oh, and thank you letters were always sent out when I was looking for a job. Basically, just reiterating your skills and desire to work at the company. I was always taught that post interview thank you letters were a good thing.

Learning things easily is a good thing, and there's nothing wrong with not being able to come up with a struggle at work (I think?!). Every time I had to take a test I thought I bombed, and I usually didn't.

You want to know what the last straw was for me to leave my current job? The new manager is Muslim. I have absolutely NO issues with her beliefs but she is constantly harping about employees eating pork. I can't take that on a daily basis..I eat cow, pork, fish, veggies..geez. I should not be subjected to that kind of talk from a "manager". Its not like she just says pork...she says "PIG" I am tired of it. I would think this would be an HR issue.

Indeed, it would. She has a right to her opinions and beliefs, but so do you. You shouldn't have to deal with that.

Kudos to sending out the thank you letter. It is a very courteous thing to do and I was always told that as well.

I'm sure the interview didn't go as badly as you think it did.

Sending lots of that you get the job!

I didn't want to start a new thread but applying for jobs is hard work.

I just applied for another customer service position literally 1/4 mile from my home. I could conduct the interview by yelling!! Would it be bad to go to the facility in person in a couple days? They make crossbows. Sounds like a fun place.

I have sent out 4 resumes today. Hopefully I will hear from one soon.

Would it be appropriate to hand deliver a hard copy of my resume in a few days?

This would be an ideal job. Ice storm..I am 1/4 mile away. I will use NO fuel to get to work. I can walk there.

Anything you can do to stand out as a potential employee (within reason, of course) in this job market, I would do. So, if it were me, I would hand deliver it. Some companies have a policy of how they want to receive resumes and if their policy is to mail it in, then you can do that once you get back home. In the meantime, you would have made an impression attempting to hand deliver it. Good luck with your job search.

I have to get out of that place ASAP.

We were collecting money for the APL and while I was on vacation, the manager took $40.00 of that money for her walk-a-thon so she wouldn't have to pay it.
