A few years before I adopted Morty, I had adopted the sweetest B&W cat, who I named "Toby". One of the saddest days of my life was when I had to have him put down due to an irreversible illness. I was by his side at the vet when he went to sleep forever, and when I got in my car to go home, I must have sat there crying my eyes out for over an hour, before I felt in control enough to drive. I felt devastated, like I'd lost my best friend.
I wrote this composition for him soon after. Some of the pics used in this video are not of Toby, but reminded me of him in some ways, so I used them. I'm close to tears now just remembering him. It's tough to lose your baby. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it will be when Morty passes on, and I hope that won't be for a long, long time!
