I'm Back With a New Lease on Life......

After Genesis' trial and losing so many kitties in such a short period of time, I decided to take some time off. I started getting sick even before the trial but just couldn't work an illness into my schedule. After it was all over I went in for a checkup. It was bad news. The doctor found several tumors and I had to have a complete hysterectomy. Thank God for morphine.
I've been staying at a friend's house, being pampered and loved on by her 4 cats and German Shepard, until yesterday. I came home. Once I tackled the 2 flights of stair to my apartment I was okay. It's so much nicer to recuperate at home.
My dear friend came to visit me this morning and brought his beloved tortie, Turtle,with him to brighten my day. He adores this little kitty so much!! She has brought out a tender and kind side to him that I had never seen before. And he showed me that side today.
He said that he wanted to give me a gift of love and healing during this difficult time. He said he wanted me to take Turtle into my Life. That he felt that I needed to love and care for another cat. He wanted that cat to be Turtle!!!! I'm still in shock, I can't believe he would give me the cat that he loves so much!!
This is the act of a true friend.
So Im feeling better all ready. There is a reason to fight for my life again. I'm posting a couple of pics of her. Just ignore the dates--I haven't properly set it yet.

I am so sorry to hear you've been thru so much. I hope you're feeling back to your normal self very soon. I am sure Turtle and your friend will make you heal faster. She is a real cutie, I wish you the best of luck...you deserve it.

Oh my gosh!! I was just wondering about you today!!

I am speechless regarding your dear friend! That is just amazing. He must think the world of you to give Turtle to you. This is just wonderful.

I am so sorry to hear you went through so many medical problems....stress can be a major factor in sickness. And you had your share of that.

So good to see you back. The site was not the same without your sig!

Turtle is stunning. She looks wonderful.

The love of a good kitty, in your own home! No better medicine in the world!!!

I'm sorry you have been through what you have!! I'm glad that you are back and that you are well!

Turtle is a beautiful girl! I can see why he named her turtle. She has all of the colours of a turtle chocolate!

What a wonderful friend you have. I think I remember you posting that your friend was moving and that you were going to miss Turtle. How wonderful that he recognized your love for her and is leaving her with you.

I have been wondering where you've been, but I figured you had a good reason for being away from TCS for so long. My goodness though, I didn't expect all that! I'm so sorry you had to go through what you did, but it's great that you were able to stay with a friend (and pets!) to recover.

It's really touching to hear that your friend wants to have you take Turtle into your home and life. Is he still moving out of state? If so, he'll have double the reason to come back to visit you often.

Oh, and Turtle looks prettier than ever!!

Hi hun,been scarce on here myself too and so sorry that I haven't kept in touch.I am so,so sorry that you have been through all this,you have been through hell these past few months and you don't deserve any of this.I feel bad as I have not been a good friend.I am so happy that you are on the road to recovery and I cannot tell you how pleased I am that you have Turtle,its brilliant and will definately give you a new outlook on life and bring some great and much needed cuddles back to you.You have had a wonderful relationship with Turtle since I have known you and you are a fantastic meowmy.I know you both will be so happy together.
I am sorry again for not being in contact,just glad you have such wonderful,caring friends.Glad you are back on here.xxx

So sorry you've been through so much, but so thankful that you've got Turtle to care for now. You've always adored her and I think your friend is so special to gift her to you. I really hope she helps you heal and feel better after all you've gone through in the past year.

Cheryl, I was JUST going to post a thread - but I didn't know about the latest news! HOW ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We know how much you love Turtle - and how much your friend does too! That is an amazingly selfless and wonderful thing for him to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm SO sorry for all you've had to face recently, and I'm sending heaps of vibes for you to completely heal up and feel ALL better soon! !!!!!!!

I'm so glad to hear that you're healing now...so much to go through. When I looked at the first picture of Turtle, I glanced over to make sure our Sassy was still here -- they look so much alike!

I, too, have been wondering how you were doing. Congratulations on you and Turtle being together. I remember you saying your friend was moving far away and you would miss her. Is he leaving soon? I hope he gets a chance to visit her again before he goes.

OH Cheryl, first of all, I am so very sorry you have had to deal with these medical issues and I pray for you to have a complete and full recovery. AND now you have a new lease on life with Turtle. I can honestly say that I have been hoping for you to open up your heart to another cat but knew you would in time when the right cat came along. or crawling (like a turtle.....) along. What a beauty Turtle is and congratz

And Turtle is joined by a little baby brother! A beta fish has joined the family, Theo Van G.! (Turtle meets her brother (Sorry Cheryl, couldn't resist! Turtle's expressions are just too cute!)
