Run free Goatie

Goatie was euthanized just after noon today rather than wake her up from exploratory surgery. Masses were found, which the vet suspected but I was hoping for a miracle. She was only about 9 years old.

Play happily over the Rainbow Bridge, Goat-Head

A picture I took of her on my phone while we waiting on blood work at the vet's office....the last one I have of her.

And a picture of her snuggling in bed with me

Oh no...such a sweet little friend. My heart goes out to you. Those last pics are precious to you, yet sad.

So many are leaving us lately..Goatie is in excellent company at the Bridge.

Hugs to you...may you find comfort in the fact she went peacefully and woke up to beauty, warmth and love.

God bless Goatie and you for loving her.

Natalie, you have a way with your ferals that defies all - and the picture you have of Goatie snuggling with you in bed is the best proof I've seen yet!

I'm so very sorry that you lost your sweet girl. :sniff: Far too young!! You have a feral colony in heaven watching over you now, and waiting for you later.

The nights are the hardest & when I'm sitting at home - nothing to think about but all my regrets. Why the heck didn't I notice earlier & why oh why did I leave her Wed night at the vet to await surgery? She spent her last night in a cage in a strange place

A few older pictures I found of her

Crazy weird Goatie, always running into things - people, buildings, vehicles. You passed your quirky behaviors onto your son, Dory, and they live on with him. Still miss you so much, my Goatie Girl.

I am truly sorry for your loss of Goatie . Very sad. She was a beauty for sure. Please don't feel guilty about leaving her in that cage the last night, you did everything the best you knew how . We all do that and think of things we should have done different. You loved Goatie and that is what matters more than anything RIP darling Goatie

Nat, I'm so sorry for your loss. Goatie was a lovely girl, and much loved. Be gentle with yourself, dear, you did the best you could for her and the miracle was not to be.

RIP sweet Goat-head

I know exactly how you feel about leaving your cat at the vet the night before surgery, because I did the very same thing, and the very same thing happened. It was a year ago and my Sherman had to have exploratory surgery, also for tumors. And also, they called me and the decision was made that he couldn't recover and he was pts.

He was older, they thought 10 or 12, after they opened him up they determined that. I only had him 10 months. He had been a stray and at the shelter for a couple of years before I found him. I took him into the vet's the night before because they needed him in the morning, but not early enough for me to take him before work. I would have had to take the day off to take him in when they wanted him. I will regret forever that I didn't take that day off. I never thought. He was alone there in the cage that night. At the time, the vet's office didn't have any resident cats, which they usually do and now do again. So, he was alone. I will never forgive myself for that.

I'm so sorry you lost your dear cat. "Goatie" is an interesting name. I wonder how she came to be called that.

RIP dear one.

Robin
