I am posting today at the request of my neighbor. She is a Birman and American Wirehair breeder, and she is the one who gave me my Ziggy, Brillo and Sheba.
She called me this morning and told me that it has become necessary for her to sell her home (I'm omitting the details, but rest assured it's a sad story.) She has a beautiful home, but it will be virtually unsellable with it full of cats. She has made the decision to spay/neuter all of her breeding cats and rehome almost everyone.
I don't have an exact number of cats, but she has a variety of Birmans and American Wirehairs (smooth and wired). She also has some smooth kittens that are still nursing that will be available in the next months, as well as a couple of half-grown Birman kitten (darling!)
I can vouch for the quality of her cats, and the fact that they are very well socialized. My 3 wires don't/didn't scratch or bite--ever. Her Birmans are THE definition of lap cats. They are beautiful and she has them in all colors.
If you are interested, or know of anyone who is, please contact me. I agreed to be the "initial contact person" and will be glad to refer you over to her. I will also be glad to get some photos together if anyone is interested. She is happy to ship via airlines--the cost is usually around $200.
I am very sad, as this person has been a good friend to me for 12 years, and it hurts to see her so upset. She was the one who sat with me through my chemo last winter, so I figure the least I can do is help her during this time of painful transition. Of course I love the cats as well.
PLEASE, if you know anyone....she trusts me to help her find good homes and I just hope some of her cats will be lucky enough to find a home with some of you all.
If you are not able to take a kit...vibes are welcomed and needed.
Thank you very much for reading.
Cally--who can't believe she is in a rescue situation--AGAIN. Sigh...
