litter box/pan

OK so my kittens are using the washroom all over my bedroom right now even tho there is a litter box in my room for momma to use the washroom when containing to her babies,I have placed each kitten in her litter box to show them that this is where they should be using the bathroom but they can't seem to get in it to use it, so I am wondering what can I use as a litter box/pan for the kittens I was thinking of using a large cake pan but then again I need to buy another one for them to use it as their litter box/pan.
I am looking for suggestions on what else I can use for a kitten litter box/pan?
your help would be greatly appreciated in giving me suggestions. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.

How old are they? If they can't get into the box, yes, you need to get something shallower. If you have the lid of a plastic storage tote lying around, that can make a good starter litterbox. Also the cardboard trays that canned foods come in (but they have to be changed frequently because the cardboards gets soaked with urine). You can get those at the grocery store. Be sure to use non-clumping litter for them. When they get bigger, you should get another regular-size litterbox for them--it's not fair to expect so many cats to use only one litterbox.

If they still don't get the idea, try confining them to the bathroom when you can't watch them. Then they won't have much choice except to use the litterbox.

They will be six weeks old on friday and I do have the lid on the litter box but it's not a tall one it's shallow even with the lid off.

I didn't mean the lid on the litterbox. I meant the lid from a tote. . .like a Rubbermaid storage bin, you know? If you turn the lid upside down (or sometimes rightside up, depending on how the lid is made), it makes a good, very shallow litter pan for baby kittens.
