Hi everyone,

Got bad news from the vet this morning. Plushy didn't make it. The surgery was really rough on him and he died early this morning.
I am very sad
I had hoped we would be finally seeing a solution but I guess we just didn't catch it early enough.

Thanks for all of your support and good vibes over the last few days. I guess it was just his time.

I am so sorry....you both tried so hard. Try to take comfort in knowing how much Plushy was loved, and that he knew it.

So this, mostly, was caused from him having eaten plastic in the past? Poor boy.
I'm so sorry.

Might I suggest that once you're feeling better and in a place where you can do so that you write up his story and put it online somewhere or ask Ann if she'll put it on the site for you? His tragic story may help save other cats, which I think would be an amazing way to honor his memory.

Thank you all. I opted to bring him home and bury him. I just don't feel right not letting his body return home. The hardest part is bringing myself to go pick him up from the vets. I hate the thought of bringing him home in a box and knowing that he is gone. I feel terrible. I can't help but blame myself for not pushing further with testing early on. Had I done that, maybe he would still be alive. The vet was convinced his intestinal thickening wad cancer but until the lab results come back we won't know. I couldn't go to work today but I hope I feel up to going tomorrow so I can get my mind off of this. I hate to think about him dying all alone. I hope he doesn't think I abandoned him. I was getting ready to go visit him when the vet called.
I wish I could've seen him alive to say goodbye.

I am so sorry for your loss. While you were going through poor Plushy's sickness, my Callie also became sick with an abdominal tumor of the blood vessels. She died about a month ago and I am still so sad. Maybe they are playing together now, free of sickness. Plushy was loved and cared for and isn't that the best life for a cat? It will take a long time for the lump in your throat to go away. I cry in my car to let it out (so when I get to work I'm cried out).
