Just for fun- for those of you with AKC/CFA/TICA etc... registered pets (cats, dogs, horses,etc) What are their registered names?? Is their registered name the same as their call name (the name you use for them every day) or did you give them a different one? For those of you who don't have an animal eligable for registration through club: if you could give your adorable furbaby a registered name, what would it be?

Both of my Australian Shepherds are registered with the American Kennel Club. Their breeder's kennel prefix is "Brake's" so that is why that is in the front of their registered names). Their registered names are:

Ranger's AKC registered name is AKC Brake's Lone Ranger (CGC,CTD)

Mykelti's AKC registered name is AKC Brake's Femme Fatale (Well, it will be as soon as I get her paperwork back lol!)

Ranger's breeder chose Ranger's registered name and I didn't bother changing it around because I thought that it suited him soo well! (He has a little black mask on his face like his namesake, the Lone Ranger
)

With Mykelti, I had to come up with a name for her and had been going back and forth for several weeks trying to make a decision! I knew I wanted to keep her call name "Mykelti" but it didn't bother me to have her call name in her registered name or not. I decided on Brake's Femme Fatale because it suites her personality soo well! She's soo sassy and acts like such a little siren, luring in every person and animal that she meets and placing them under her spell of cuteness!
I decided to go with Brake's Femme Fatale as her registered name and keep Mykelti as her call name!

If you have a furbaby that is registered with a specific kennel club/cattery/etc, what is their registered name? How did you choose it?

(My kitties and my other sweet pup Macy do not have registered names, but I make up for it with plenty of little nick names for them!
)

awesome names!
Our last miniature schnauzer was the only one that I remember their registered name. His name was Alex but the name on his papers: "Baron Alexander Von Jagermeister" he was also called Alexmeister on a regular basis!
Shocka and Dakota, 2 of our danes, were registered but I dont remember their names!
If I get another full breed I will have so much fun trying to figure out a name

Oh, I love your Aussie names! I have an Aussie mix (a rescue) and I just adore her. I think I may go all Aussie all the time, now!

I don't think I've ever had a registered pet in my life... I know I did have purebreeds growing up but I was five when we got them, so no idea where they came from... had a dalmation and a lab- Rebel
and Mindy

Fynn's registered name is Gum's Bam Bam - not something we particularly like, but he was named before we bought him. We were going to change his registered name to AP's La Fynn Du Monde but he had already sired a litter so we couldn't change it. We may use it in one of his pups names if we keep a male back.

Our girl that lives with my friend is Foosfeldts Lucy Lou Vom Daxi Haus SL. We had to go with just Lucy Lou (her call name is Lucy) because we had so few spaces to work with after the breeder's kennel name and ours (in the contract).

We'll be keeping a pup back from the breeding - her name is going to be Foosfeldt's Fox Confessor Brings The Flood SLB (SLB is Standard Long Brindle, if she's brindled).

We have names picked out for the entire litter, lol, up to 4 males and 4 females.

My last horse, Mr. Toby Lyons, was a registered thoroughbred race horse who I had the pleasure of finding after he had blown a knee out in a race ofcourse. I always called him Toby
, and really miss him

My Rottweiler is AKC registered. . .his registered name is Brutus Maximus XXIV, but I didn't name him. His last owner called him Brutus. I call him Moose.

Someone on my dog forum has a dog named District Attorney Jack McCoy (call name Jack). Best name EVAR!

I really don't know what I would choose if I ever get another registered pet. I'm bad at names. Right now I'm leaning toward something from Star Trek
.

My abyssinian's registered name is Yavapai's Merlin. The breeder had named him Merlin and I liked the name so I kept it. However, his call name is Monkey, because that's what he thinks he is.

I've only had one registered a pet, a Siberian Husky. We named him Sir Bismark of Survey Pass. He started out as Birmark but being a puppy when we got him he quickly turned into Bozo which is what he remained.

My cat's registered name has something to do with dogs, with her cattery as the prefix. Dogs don't have to be AKC registered to have a name to compete in performance sports, they can get ILPed as well. AKC allows mix breed dogs to compete.
Dog names here carry their respective kennel prefix, then the inspiration for the rest was a dinosaur, a cereal, and bug, and a devil, 3 of them have some titles (letters) added to their registered names to make them longer. 2 had litter themes that I worked around while naming. None of the call names fit with the registered names. However, I love it when they do and have so much fun picking out names. I have so many dog names picked out way more than I will ever use in this lifetime because only 2 dogs at a time is my ideal number to be able to work/train/title with them and take them everywhere with us.

I don't think Spaz's 'breeder' bothered because she did not have breeding rights in the first place.
I'd have to ask my mom about our old Siamese.

I do not know the kennel name, but my dacshund was barely an American citizen, he was German bred and his mother had her litter while in US quarantine.
My little red longhair was christened Hans Bergermeister III, we called him Bergie.
