Lump on my neck

I have a lump on neck below my chin and slightly to the right that is noticeable to the touch, feels round, an is a little sore at times. I noticed it very early Sunday evening but haven't called the doctor yet. I was wondering if anyone has ever had anything like this and what it could possibly be.

My first thought, too.

I get swollen lymph nodes from time to time - usually when I'm fighting off an allergy or something. Have you been sick at all lately, or dealing with allergies?

I second what everyone said. I had a swollen lymph node in the exact place. Try to think of any other symptoms you've been having, because the doctor will ask you. A swollen lymph node means your body is fighting some kind of infection somewhere, so it's important to figure out what it is, and whether or not it needs treatment.

Best to err on the side of caution and have your doctor rule out any potential issue just so you can rest easy. Sending vibes your way that it winds up being some minor little nuisance that goes away quickly!

Is your UC flaring up? Though I've seen more about it being common with Crohn's than with UC.

I was thinking that as well. I'm pretty sure this has happened before, but it has been a while. I don't really remember.

Not too much. Saturday was kind of a rough day and it did show up later that night.

go to the doctor to be sure. It is probably a swollen lymph node but years ago, a co-worker had a swollen area in her neck that turned out to be thyroid cancer. She had to have her thyroid removed and the cancer did not spread. Get thee hence to thy doctor!

It's getting smaller, it's about half of the size it was Monday.
