I bought an 8 week old kitten yesterday. When I went to pick him up I had to wait a little while as he was pooping. However, since coming home he has not pooped at all. He has eaten but no poo, it has been over 24 hours, is this a cause for concern?

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

Rehoming is stressful, and I have heard this can cause kitties to hold it in. Make sure the litterbox is close by and in a quite place, and you can stimulate a kitten to do its business with a wet washcloth on their bottom which simulates their mother licking them to go.
8 weeks is still very young after all, and kittens aren't usually considered fully weaned until 12 weeks, so a little help and patience might still be needed.

Congratulations on your new addition!!
I wouldn't be concerned yet. It's common for kitties to "hold it" when in a new environment. Confine the little one to a room or big crate/carrier with all the amenities (food, water, litter) until he's using the box 100% of the time.

Thanks, you were both right it seems. All is ok now he finally pooped.
