While playing with her toys, Sheba took a hard spill off a bed onto a hardwood floor, and rolled into a dresser alongside. She yelped, but seemed okay.
Early Saturday morning we noticed she was noisy and carrying-on, but assumed it was her yelling for her breakfast (she normally does this each morning). She even jumped up onto the bed and marched over to us in her usual fashion to wake us up. When we got up we noticed she was limping quite pronounced. It appeared she injured her left rear foot/paw. (In hindsight, we're thinking she was trying to get our attention for help.)
We called and took her to her vet immediately. Her vet examined her and manipulated her all four of her legs, hips, and physically checked the rest of her body. The vet placed her onto the floor and she was able to walk, albeit not very enthusiastically. Her vet indicated that if she had broken something, she wouldn't have been able to manipulate her limbs if indeed there was a break, nor bear any weight as well as she was. The vet checked her vitals and all were normal. Her vet sent her home with 5 pre-measured doses of oral Buprenorphine, to be taken every 12 hours.
We gave her the first dose very early this morning. We really can't tell if the Buprenorphine having any benefit for her discomfort.
The vet said give it till Monday or Tuesday and see if she improves. The vet also advised waiting to take x-rays; manipulating her into position may have caused more damage than good.
Some basics:
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Cheetah

Some basics:
- She has jumped onto furniture [and off] several times since yesterday, without seeming discomfort, though her limp is quite evident.
- She's alert
- She's eating and drinking
- She's using her litter box.
- She's a little bit quieter, not talking as much, but she isn't crying.
- Thus far her limping isn't improving
- She does appear to be in some discomfort
- She's 14 years old
- Sheba is our first and only cat, neither of us have any past experience
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
