We have had our DSL for a few years now and thought it was fast enough.

Well, not anymore. We had U-Verse Cable WiFi and internet installed today. I must say that so far, I love the Cable WiFi. I noticed it is so much faster!

They had to go through the phone line as the cable box was locked by the other cable provider. I didn't know they can do that but the guy that installed the service assured me the could. He actually told me the service would be better as the phone line using a better and faster transmission.

I have had the service about 5 hrs and so far I am very very happy!

Ooo! We have cable internet with our phone and HD tv as a bundle package. I can't imagine going back to DSL. Actually I've only ever had DSL at work; and I wasn't impressed. Not with the performance and not with the carrier. But then it's not like the cable company has never irritated us either.

Grats!!!

Uverse internet uses fiberoptic, which has tremendous bandwidth capability and as the name implies travels at the speed of light.

DSL is using a super thin copper wire used by telephones, and performance is dependent on how close you are to the telco's switching office.

I have U-verse too, and uncapped its insane in the membrane! I backed off to their $50 plan though, as thats plenty IMO.

I'm so jealous of South Korea though. They recently did a nation-wide plan to update their infrastructure, so almost the whole country is on blazing fast fiberoptic. Fastest average internet speed on the planet, and the US doesn't come close.

ATT is always after us to install U-Verse, but every time I compare, they just come out so much worse than what we already have. In addition, we would have to replace our house's alarm system, and U-Verse TV doesn't seem to have many HD stations without going to a ridiculously expensive level.
