Afraid that she's not eating enough

We brought Isis home on April 2nd. She is 6 months old and we love having her as a part of our family. At her first visit to the vet, she weighed in at 5.5 lbs.

I am a bit worried about her eating habits. Right now we feed her 1/2 cup Chicken Soup for the Kitten Lover's Soul (dry food) and 1/2 of a small can of Nutro (wet food). We feed her in the morning and at night. I notice that when we feed her she does not finish her food in one sitting. She will eat about half of it and then go back to it about 1 hour later and finish.

She hasn't thrown up anything but she does urinate and poop ALOT. She poops more than 4 times a day. The vet didn't mention anything about her being underweight or unhealthy. However, I cannot help but feel that she's not eating enough. Help!

At six months old they have tiny tummies.

My cats are now young adults and have a hard time finishing more than 1/4 of a 5.5oz can each in one sitting.

IMO, leave the dry out 24x7, it won't go bad and your kitty can nibble. Just make sure the bowl is always topped off. The wet food feed morning and night instead, and if you have time perhaps even in the afternoon.

You don't really have to worry about overfeeding for another three months at least.
