Hi all. ok. I've got another one. She is a beautiful white girl with one bronze/gold eye and a deep blue one. she has a little brownish/grayish fur between her ears. long story about how she got here, but she was dropped off by someone who had started to feed her and love on her, but were moving. so, long story short, she appeared in our barn.(officer, I swear I don't know how she got there lol) friendly to ppl, but not so to the other barn cats. I put her in a crate where I just had released to other ferals to the barn the day before. I'll keep her there for another week or so till I can get her in and get her spayed. she keeps shaking her tail like she is spraying but nothing comes out. she is super affectionate. Even if I bring her in she will have to get used to my other cats. If you all remember, I have several barn cats that have learned to use the doggie door to come in and out. anyway. what I'm wondering is this: should I try to bring her in or let her stay outside where she has been living for a while. I don't think she is feral, I do think someone dumper her when they moved. but I figured as I've been with you all for so long you might have some suggestions to which road I should pick for her.

she seems to be a given candidate for fostering.
She is beatiful, she doesnt like other cats much.

You say you are unsure if she will manage with your cats. But I think the answer is easy. As she is beautiful and friendly, it shouldnt be too difficult to find an adopter. (this is in a way sad, beauty opening possibilities, but such is live. Some cases are difficult, some are easier. Lets not look too much why some cases are easier, lets be happy some cases ARE easier).

so. Fostering, parallelly with seeking for adopter, without other cats, or preferably with 1-2 friendly cat. preferably a neutered male.

I have noticed more than once, females who were supposed to hate other cats, and seeked adoption homes as alone cat - DID had a cat friend - a neutered male. It was other females they did hated.

Tx a lot and good luck!

A few of my neutered males fake spray but none of my females(all spayed of course

I would wait till after surgery and let her decide how much she will tolerate and judge by that.

I agree with both Stefan and catsallaround! It sounds like she's a good candidate for fostering - but I'd wait until she's spayed and see.

As to the tail vibrating - it may not be fake spraying. We have several "tail vibrators," and they do it because they're happy and excited! Billy vibrates his tail EVERY meal time! And Spooky vibrates her tail when she runs up and wants pets.
Several of the outside ferals do this when I'm getting their food ready.

!!! She sounds like a wonderful cat for someone and would probably be just happy as an inside kitty.

Also, I have two vibrating tail kitties too!! Perkins and Presley do it when they are happy and excited to see me. This has nothing to do with territorial spraying.

1st off, sorry for the side way picture. I'm just surprised that i got it on at all. I'll work on it some later to see if I can't get it righted. lol that is a pic of pocohontis . you can see how beautiful she is.
I don't know if you can enlarge it to see her eyes, but they are addicting. I'm going to keep her as a house cat. I can't get her in for the shots and testing before tomorrow, so she will stay secluded for a bit more. I really hope she is negative on all the test too. I'm hoping doc will be able to tell mi is she thinks poco has been spayed or not. Its great to hear about the trail shaking. she does it when she first sees me or I bring out the wet food. Hubby told me that she seems to be getting along with almost everyone in the barn but Orange Cat, our neutered male. If it doesn't work out, then I'll go ahead and still get everything done for her and as beautiful as she is, I'm sure my vet might know someone who might like her. She is totally housebroken and loves playing will all the toys and scratching post that we have in her room. what can I say. I really want her to stay in wit the family.
It's a shame that ppl will toss a cat out or leave without taking them.
she had to have had a family at one time in order to be so sweet now. I sure hope everything works out.

OH MY!!! She is absolutely gorgeous and I adore her "top hat" marking. I am confident you could find her a wonderful home. Good luck with all of the tests being negative

what can I say but thank you. she is beyond beautiful. her one real bright blue eye, (on her left), yet on the other side is a brilliant golden topaz eye. I've been playing with her today and she is beyond friendly. there is such a connection with her that I'm keeping her. If and only if, she can't adjust to the other cats, then I will let her go to a family that has at least one stay at home person and no other pets. She say the dogs today and she didn't flinch or run and hide or anything. so that is good. I'll let you know about the other indoor cats. wish me luck.

Exciting news. I took Poco to the vets today to have her checked out. well, as she was a stray they checked for a chip. Yep, she had one.
I told the vet I didn't want to give her up, but I understood that she should check it out. I would want it done if it was one of mine. so she did and boy was there a story about this little girl. She is 11 mo. old, and spayed, (took care of that problem)
. She was first adopted for an adoption group in Delaware. (I live in Virginia), from there she was in Maryland, and from there she was adopted from Petsmart in Pennsylvania. How she got here is beyond us, but as there were no reports of lost or missing or even who had her last, they said she was mine..
she also has had her rabies shots. so, I had her tested for everything and she is clean clean clean. super healthy. she got her distemper shot as she is still so young. poor baby, so many moves in such a short life. she will stay with me for life. I've already transferred the chip to me. the vets did say that they wished every cat that came in was as sweet as her. she laid on her side on the table while they took blood and gave shots and aside from having to put my hand on her, she never flinched for tried to get up. several of the other vets came in to see her and her beautiful eyes. so..happy ending to a shaky beginning.
