I don't know if I'm paranoid but I'm starting to get afraid that I didn't screen the people that adopted my foster cat AJ properly. They seemed like nice responsible people but I've found out a few things that worries me.
They put on their application that they used to have a cat and a dog that had both passed away. The dog was supposedly old and the cat had a seizure disorder. They put down that the cat was 8 on the application. It didn't occur to me until later but in conversation they were talking about when they got the cat as a kitten and they've only been together for 3-4 years. I saw pictures of the dog on their facebook site and he didn't look old. I was just looking on their facebook site to see if there was any pics of AJ (they seem to post pics every day) and there was a picture of a puppy posted last summer that said it was their new puppy they were about to pick up and they didn't "have to go across the country this time". What this time? What animal did they pick up across the country and where is that animal now? Where is that puppy now? What really happened to their cat and dog?
They have posted a bunch of pictures on their respective facebook sites and AJ is not in a single one. I find it a bit odd that they were so excited to get him and post no pictures of him. It may not mean anything but the whole thing makes me very nervous. I'm starting to wonder if they've lied to me.
What do you guys think? Am I just overreacting? I'm really feeling like going to get him this weekend. This doesn't feel right at all. Just too many red flags. I'm so mad at myself that I didn't screen them better.
