My cat nuzzles everything.. but me!

Kinda a random question. I am not worried or upset or anything, but more of curious.

My cat, Monet, rubs his head against all objects.. the door, a sculpture, leg of a chair, whatever.. especially when I am near, giving him attention. But he never, ever rubbed me or a visitor.

He and I live alone together, no other humans to compare with, really. I want to be like the cat food commercial where the cat lovingly nuzzles his owner's face! lol

I am curious to why he never, ever head-butts/rub me, but everything else?

How long have you had him? I seldom get a head butt, but often get the brush of the tail or slight rub of the side of the head on my leg. I'm satisfied with that. I have noticed that the more time I spend with my kitties the more affectionate they are with me. Sometimes those things come with time.

I had him for 2 years on Memorial day. I know he loves me, he's always at my heels and hate to be in a separate room from me (even in the bathroom!). I just want a nuzzle to the head! lol

You might try giving him a headbutt and see if he figures it out that way. My heart kitty Callie would never headbutt me, but would headbutt my husband all day long and she didn't really think he was 'all that'! :LOL

guess they show love differently!

I took out Monet's brush since he was shedding like crazy. He let me brush him for about 20 minutes, loving every second of it with loud purrs. he'd turn around, nuzzle the brush, nuzzle my foot.. but he refuses to nuzzle my hand or face! lol. I guess nuzzling my foot is closest I'll get for now

I think he's just being a bit more respectful of your personal space in not rubbing on your face. The cheek rubbing cats do isn't so much a sign of affection (really, does anyone think a cat loves a table leg?) as it scent marking and a way to release contented pheromones.
Your cat is marking his objects. You're a person (or a cat, depending on how your cat thinks of you) not an object to be marked. This doesn't count for strangers that come into the home and need to be properly scent marked, though.

Now this doesn't hold true for all cats. IMO the pushy demanding, "your attention and you are MINE" cats are most likely to mark their people, too. They'll also mark every other cat in the house they can if given the chance. I have a couple like this and I have others that just mark objects and respect personal space a bit.

Your kitty does love you, he is showing that, and chances are you're already wearing his scent anyways so he just doesn't feel the need to smear more of it on you.

Scratch his cheeks and chin. Most cats love this and it will get their scent on you.

If I scratch my outside cats then come in and wash my hands (as I always do), my indoor cats can still smell the other cats on my fingers.

They are all so different in how they show their love to us. Perkins does not like to be pet or held for some reason. Could be that he was born in a barn and not alot of human contact and was very skittish when I first brought him home. But I found out if I put my head down and give him a bump, he bumps back and rubs himself all over my head and face. So this how we show our love to eachother. Then he usually lets me pet him and give him scritches. But he hates to be picked up and held. Maybe try to give him you head in a low position and see what happens

Monet doesn't mind being picked up, but he doesn't like to be held for more than a few minutes. It has to be on his terms when he wants to be held or snuggled in my lap.

I'll have to bump his head with mine soon, try that out, lol.
