I was giving my kids breakfast this morning and got to thinking about their individual preferences.

My RB kitty, Chynna
, loved dry food, wet food and most people food.

Abby will only eat dry cat food. She doesn't like wet cat food. If the kittens don't finish their wet dinner, and I haven't picked up the plate, I'll see Abby eating it a day later when it's completely dried out. And she doesn't like people food. She is nosy and wants to sniff and taste what I'm eating, but after one or two licks, that's all she wants.

Katie loves dry cat food of any kind and people food. The only food I give her is a few bits of chicken when I'm having some. Otherwise she gets no people food. She nibbles a little at wet cat food, but not enough to make a meal of it.

Spencer loves cat food of all kinds. But he absolutely loves wet food. He will eat dry without complaining though. He's just a boy that loves to eat. However, he doesn't like people food. He doesn't even come around to bug me when I'm eating, unlike his sister who tries to climb into my plate to inspect it.

What are your kitty's preferences?

Jamie loves dry food and deigns to eat canned food if it comes out of a very small can (not pouch) and doesn't have any additives. He particularly likes fish and thinks he doesn't get it nearly often enough.

As far as people food is concerned, he loves water-packed tuna, hardboiled eggs, mushrooms, shrimp, crab, calamares, pizza with hot peppers (!), mashed potatoes, any kind of cream cake and baked pumpkin.

Miezi likes dry food, canned food from very small cans (she learned that from Jamie) and cheese of all kinds. She also loves anything barbecued and makes the rounds of the neighbors whenever they're grilling.

My furbabies LOVE canned Evo or Instinct wet foods. They also love Fancy Feast Fish/Shrimp, go nuts for that
. They love some crunchies too and enjoy Wellness Core dry in small amounts.

Got a varied lot here:
Da Lip only eats shreds and gravy although he does try to eat paste style and will nibble at dry food if the kibble size is small enough. Tonight he will dine on liver with me
Da Magpie eats anything that looks like cat food, not much liking for human food
Blue - anything is fair game if it doesn't move too fast; I think she is channeling her grandpa Jack

The barn cats, Jack, Tippy, Zab, Splash and Hissy eat almost anything from meat scraps to dry cat food.

All three love wet food, I had fed them only dry until about a month ago and they are loving the change

Mitsy and Matti also like yoghurt and will come running when they hear a spoon in the carton. However, they are never interested in anything else.
Mourek, on the other hand, loves any and all person food. If I am eating, Mourek will jump into my lap and try to grab the food with his paws. It is very, very funny to watch - until he does manage to snatch something

Spaz will eat anything, she's a feline garbage disposal and worse than my dog about begging.

Jade loves her dry and as the lowest kitty on the totem pole, she will eat wett once the other two walk away.
She ignores most people food, but will steal peanut butter, oreos and poptarts, she's a real strange one.

Baby isn't the least bit interested in people food, she loves dry, and loves any poultry based wet, she'll eat others, just without so much enthusiasm.

Wet, dry, dog, and people food.
Likes it all, will eat all the above until there is no more available.
Will even eat the reptile food if at all possible, both veggies and live bugs.

Jake is very picky about food, he will only eat wet and dry cat food, and no people food with few exceptions.
The exceptions are bananas, tuna, goldfish crackers and beef jerky.
He doesn't even like raw meat or raw fish, which is confusing to me because that's what he's supposed to eat in the wild.

Sassy will eat only dry food, and loves to drink water from the tap so much that, when we decided we really had to break of her the habit and stopped running it for her, she learned how to turn it on herself! (Now if we can just get her to turn it off.)

Pearl requires a private dining area, and delicately licks the moisture off of wet food, leaving the remains for other, lesser cats.

St. John is a perfectly normal eater, but he always gazes up at me with big bright eyes when I'm having spaghetti, because he dearly loves a little taste of parmesan cheese.

Clyde is fixated on the dry food that Mom keeps in a bowl in her room for when St. John sleeps with her. It's the same food as in the kitchen -- but apparently, the ambience is superior.

Abby lives in her own room, and if you enter the room without food, she immediately plants herself in front of her bowl and gazes back at you meaningfully. But she's happy with anything she's given, she eats like a perfect lady, and she thanks you with ankle-rubs and the sweetest little sounds a kitty can make.

Dylan is fascinated with people food. When Mom has a bowl of cereal, Dylan waits patiently for her to finish it and give him the remaining milk (which doesn't seem to cause him any trouble). And when I make my famous cornbread (with cut corn and cheddar in it), Dylan paces the kitchen until it's done, then politely waits for me to cut him a piece.

These cats, huh?

That reminds me that Abby loves the left over milk from my "Special K Redberries" cereal. I am lactose intolerant and use lactaid milk, so I don't worry about her drinking it at all. I haven't introduced the kittens to lactaid milk yet because they are still kittens and have sensitive tummies, and I worry that even lactaid milk might cause them issues.
