Oliver and Kasey

So Oliver is new to my house (in case someone didn't know that) and he now has free run of the place. He's doing awesome except there's a few issues.

He doesn't like any of the other animals around me at all. I was sitting on the couch petting my Boxer, she had her head on my lap when all of a sudden Ollie came flying out of the kitchen and charged and growled at my boxer, Lucy took off in a run of course and Ollie then laid on my lap with the most satisfied look on his face.

Now he won't let me other cat Kasey come upstairs from the basement. She generally spends most of her time down there anyways but when the house is quiet like evenings through until morning, she comes upstairs....but Ollie won't let her....this morning I got their breakfast ready (they get wet food for breakfast) and set all 3 dishes down...as soon as Kasey came around the corner, Ollie charged at her and chased her back downstairs growling at her the whole time.

He'll also chase Kaymen(my 9 yr old tortie) out of her bed, then he lays in it.

Believe it or not, he gets along with them when he wants too...he chases the dogs away from me but last night he was curled up with my Schnauzer sound asleep....

Is he just trying to find his place and let them know that he's boss? Is it because he's not fixed yet (goes in on May 9th), what's his problem?

LOL it's kinda funny seeing this little kitty growling and charging at my Boxer but on the other hand I know he shouldn't be doing it...haha.

He's a Siamese and 7 mths old in case that makes a difference

I'm just guessing here, but it seems reasonable to me that in a new place he might tend to push everyone around (if he's confident enough to try it) to establish himself. Most cats I think would hide, wait, and see, but he's a young intact male and Siamese too so that might tip the scales a bit in favor of his confidence.

He might mellow after being neutered?

I really just had to reply because of your last sentence. I have a female Siamese mix and a young German Shepherd that weighs about 120 pounds. If he follows her too closely or breaks some other "rule" of how she is to be treated, she will turn on him, raise up on her hind legs, scream, and hop after him on two legs with front claws extended towards his face -- just in case her message isn't clear enough otherwise. It's hilarious, but he beats a quick retreat. I think there's something about Siamese ...
