My dog pancaked my cat

My dog, Virac, is very jealous of Ni, my kitty who loves being belly rubbed. The other day, I was about to pet Ni's tummy (he was sprawled on the floor), Virac just walked over and laid himself on top of Ni. Virac is on the heavy side. I could see Ni's legs sticking out on both sides of the dog. Ni's meows were pitiful and maybe a bit panicky.
I pushed Virac off and picked up a very angry cat. The dog was scolded by me and Ni (who chased him for the next 2 minutes).
Hope it does not happen again.

That is soooo funny. It's as if that puppy knows what he's doing as well, just as i imagine Virac!

The good thing is it is just a puppy because he looks like he would be a big bruiser when fully grown?.

Since this pic isn't your dog, what breed is yours-if to large this could cause some issue. My dog used to LOVE this 1 lb kitten(died from liver shunt tho) and he was 40 lbs but gentle(never trusted them as way to great of a size!) I hope they work out their issues

Bad Virac! - but it must have been funny, except for Ni.

I don't know about other people but with having cats and dogs together I always made the cats higher on the pack order and it works for me my cats and dogs with the exception of my dad's dog have always gotten along. My boxer was afraid of my cats which to me worked and when they were puppies and they bothered the cats I let them deal with the dog and I had some say it would backfire but my pitbull would let my cat love all over her while she was chewing on a bone.

Poor Ni! I'm glad she chased him around after that. Such a funny image.
