Swollen eye

Hi all,

Over the last few hours I have noticed my cat blinking and closing one eye in particular. It seems a little swollen and the top of that one eyelid seems a little whiter than the other. If it persists I will be taking her to the vets. Anyone know what this could be?

She could have gotten dust in it, scratched it while she was itching, or as she was grooming herself she could have gotten a spare hair in it. If you have pet eyewash you can flush it out, or if you have sterilized water you can use that, but don't use just plain tap water or human eye drops. You can also try putting a cold wet compress over her eye for as long as she can tolerate it and see if that helps.
