Okay, not so much a review, but a very brief synopsis; of an interwoven tale of a Cheetah mum and her five babies, an aging lioness sacrificing everything for her daughter, and a band of male lions on a ruthless conquest.
Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson (which, for me, was the definite low point of the movie; he brings too much voice inflection for my taste - made the movie sound too much like an animated feature).
SEE THIS MOVIE. It's gorgeous, inspiring, tragic, and everything in between. Some of the cinematography will leave you gasping, "How in the world did they get that shot?!". You'll smile, laugh, cry, and if you're like me, walk out of the theatre more than a bit humbled; realizing how incredibly small and insignificant we are within this great big world, and how much drama unfolds everyday in the animal kingdom. I, for one, need that reminder now and then.
