I know April showers bring May flowers but this is getting ridiculous.

Out of the 27 days this month so far, it has only been sunny five of them. That means 22 days of rain. I can't start my garden and all the outdoor businesses are being hurt by the weather.

I scheduled my vacation for next week and it is supposed to rain.

I am not a happy camper.

It's like that here, too. To the point of being ridiculous! Enough already! Our soil is saturated. We can't till the gardens, we can't even do a lot of weeding. While we are managing to mow the yard, the grass is a little on the damp side. But we have to mow or it would really get ugly.

We're going to plant some flowers and get some yard work done on Saturday....so far, that looks to be a pretty nice day. It's about time.

And we're so far behind on things for DH's birthday party it's not even funny. I have some of the wood stained for the tiki bar, but I need to do the second coat. I need to saw some pieces and we do the sawing outside. DH is able to powerwash the fence around the pool, but I can't paint until it dries out. And at this point, I have no idea when that will be.

DH is leaving for a week in Louisville in May for union stuff, too, so that will put us even further behind. This rain needs to stop for awhile.

How about you SHARE a little bit.

Its costing me a fortune to constantly water my yard and plants, as it hasn't rained in around a month now, and even then it was a short drizzle.

And my neighbors apparently don't understand the concept of plants needing water, so right next door it looks like you drove into the ghetto with the trees completely devoid of leaves, the soil cracked, and grass mostly dead.

I will be more than happy to share. I have a lake in my back yard. I am expecting ducks to come and take up home here.

We have severe storms forecast for today. Great...

I feel for the companies who rely on half way decent weather for spring..landscapers, concrete layers etc. They have no work yet. There is no way anyone could mow my lawn. The ground is so saturated it is squishy. I don't think there is one person in my neighborhood that has had their lawn mowed. It would do more damage to the lawn with the over saturation.

Haven't had toooo much rain in Chicago yet, but it just started Springs rains yesterday and it is a constant rain but not too heavy. We also get a lake in our yard after many days of rain and then I have to worry about the basement!! I guess the flowers and grass really need the rain......But I sure don't

Send some of it over here! We have had not a drop of rain since MArch and there is no grass growing. My ponies are still eating last year's hay but it will soon run out as there was not much to be had last summer. The farmers had a drought last year and more than one farm here will go under if there is no hay again this year. Gardening is impossible as the ground is rock hard.

We have the opposite problem here in the UK (which is very unusual!!!)

We haven't had a big rainfall for about two weeks, it's just been constant heat at about 24 degrees (which is pretty warm for an April in the UK!). Mud is dry and our plants need watering. Crazy! We just aren't used to it

We were on vacation last week to visit my family in New York and it rained every day. We wanted to take our little one to the park or at least on a nice spring walk. No such luck!

We haven't been as bad here; but being up there and watching the TV makes me think of the year my husband and I got married (2003). It rained like every day for over a month it seemd! It poured the day of our wedding so no outdoor pictures. We went off on our honeymoon for a week and a half and came home and it was STILL raining!

The Easter Bunny had to wear a life vest to hide eggs on Sunday.

They just announced they were evacuating a couple of towns in Kentucky because they need to open a dam to relieve the pressure. I mention it esp. because they emphasized pets were welcome at the shelter.

To quote one of Dottie's favorite uncles, "Nature loves an average." If you have several dry years, you can expect a wet one.

This was shown best when Texas had a drought in the late 1940's into the 50's. There were a number of reservoirs that were built during that time, because wells were going dry and populations were expanding. Those reservoirs were nearing completion in 1958, when, in one weekend, Texas got enough rain to make up for the years of drought. All those lakes were full Monday morning.

We received over 6" of rain this month. Tomorrow is to be sunny and low 60's. But rain Sat and hopefully 3-4 days without to start May but very cool temps Upper 40's high mid 30's for lows.
I landscape as a hobby business and though I picked up some supplies I have not worked at all this month. Hopefully Sunday. Our soil is sandy so I can weed but the soil is very cold.

Fayetteville, AR, in the last 2 weeks or so, has gotten 20 inches of rain. That's about 1/3 their annual total.

The most I ever heard of was 14 inches in 30 minutes in Palmer Lake, CO, which caused a flood in Denver.

We've been in drought conditions, but a lot of the area got some pretty heavy rains this week.
