Question of the Day Wed April 27

Early again, so I won't forget!

Today is about telephones and internet. Do you have a landline? Why or why not? What type of internet service do you have? DSL or Cable?

We have a landline for a couple more days then are having it disconnected. We hardly ever use it and feel that the added expense is not worth it. We rely totally on our cell phones. As for internet, we have AT&T DSL right now. On Saturday, we will be having AT&T UVERSE installed for both TV and Cable WiFi. I can hardly wait since we have not had Cable TV for a long time. I got a very good deal on TV and Internet package and with our cell phones we will be paying just about what we do now for the phones, DSL and landline.

We do not have a landline- just cel phones. We'll be getting one soon, however, as I'm starting with a work-at-home company that requires me to have one. I hope I don't get a lot of calls from stupid solicitors.

As for Internet, we use AT&T U-Verse- it's really, really nice. I hope you like it as much as I do!

I have a landline, but I plan on getting rid of it soon. I rarely use it so it's just an unnecessary bill. I use DSL internet.

I have a landline because l don't want the world and his wife to have my mobile/cell number.

I have wireless internet access as well.

No landline for me. Just cell phones and we have smart phones so that's what I use for web. Its unlimited use for 30 extra bucks per line and then we have the lowest family plan with our lines and grams phone on there. We can't get dsl or cable internet so this is pretty much our only option. Hopefully one day the cable company runs lines thru here.....the company building is only 2 miles max from our house.

Digital cable and internet. We had dial-up for several years and it made us crazy. As soon as our cable company switched over, we did, too. And we've not looked back. DH and I have our cell phones; we both have the Droid X on the Verizon plan. No land line....frankly, it was a waste of $35 every month because we never used it anymore.

DH and I both have desktops and we use a password-protected wireless router. (He would like Santa to bring him a laptop this year for Christmas...we'll see.)

Verizon was our local phone service. They don't provide DSL out our way. We had to go with cable or dial-up. Those were our only options.

DH would like to go with DISH TV as the cable bills are getting ridiculous. The only thing stopping us at this point is the internet service.

We have a landline only because my father needs phone service and just can't use a cell phone. He tried but the buttons are to small and he can't hear the conversation from the other party on a cell.

We have Roadrunner for our internet and I hate it. It is so flakey at times.

I have cable because our phone lines in the house are so antiquated that we would have to have it rewired to use DSL. I just have the expanded basic. I don't need all the movie channels.

Cable internet, telephone and television. The landline isn't any good if our internet connection is down (rare, but it happens), but I have a smartphone and DH a cell phone, so it doesn't really matter.

I have a landline and a cell, but neither are used very often. DSL internet and satellite tv.

We have a landline but I wish we didn't, hate the sound of it ringing, wish it had different ring tones like my cell. LOL. I have cable on my computer.

Yes, we still have a land line. Why? Not sure, cause we really don't need it anymore with having cell phones. I guess I just can't give up my home phone yet. We have DSL, much quicker. I go nuts when the internet is toooo slow, I am impatient when it comes to computers

No land line...live in a trailer.

Our internet is cable, which we are picking up wirelessly from my in-laws.

We're never going to bother with tv services again because of this:

Have both a landline and cell. Internet is wireless, the only logical choice, more reliable than the dish, and they won't run high speed cable or anything out here.

I'm just the opposite of you, I rarely use my cell phone. I only turn it on when I go out but most of the time it is turned off. I would never give up my landlines, I have three in my mobile home.

My internet is cable.

Just mobile phones in this household. It cost too much to have both the landline and the mobile phones. As for internet I have Clear Internet which is neither DSL or Cable. It's an over the air one. I like it cause I can take it anywhere. I also have the internet on my phone but don't use it as much as the computer.

No landline. Really no use for one with our cell phones.

We have cable internet. When we lived on the other side of town that section of town didn't even have DSL, and parts of town still do not, so we went with cable and just stuck with them after the move.
We use DishNetwork for tv, though.
